Bunbury Inter Dominion Heats

Harness & Greyhounds
TABCORP first up with markets.

Runoneover produced a big run last night but $2.50 seems a bit short against Smolda.

Lenny already $1.75 to $1.70 from inside back row draw.

Hectorjayjay may be even be overs @ $1.20 on the assumption that Bettors Fire will not apply early pressure.

Tabtouch now up and Runoneover $3.60 seems more realistic.

$6451 First Four jackpot into race 5. Not sure i've seen a more obvious one for a long time Hectorjayjay to win from Our Jericho, Beaudiene Boaz and Bettors fire. 2/1,4,8/1,4,8/1,4,8. $6 for 100%, interesting to see what it pays.

Hopefully genuine welfare issue for the horses and very disappointing for the series.

All three horses were terrible on night one by their standards.

Spot on chariots they have been known to pack up the bat and ball in the past.....

Step in the right direction well done any extra exposure is good for the   industry I,know of  people who refused  purely  on principle  to  pay for the  extra channel,My Maddie for the night flaming flutter should lob decent spot without using too much fuel early, has to be driven this way,and the bonus acl..

Is there any free to air coverage of the series this year?

Four scratched (13.3% of final acceptors) and we haven't even got through the second round of heats.

    Two x 9 and one x 8 is not a good look.

Brings into question why you would go with three heats of 10 when 12 would have provided many more betting options and even with four scratched there would still be 32 left.

No free to air coverage @G-Mac ( don't think so anyway ). Full size fields of 12 optimises maximum turnover. It's the 'Melbourne Cup' of pacing...yet we run fields of 10 when 12 was available and what was 10 has now become 9,9,8. Good horses who at the very least inject some speed and moves into the heats are left lamenting without a start. They should never talk about 'turnover' again.

As far as running just ten in the final on a laughable 9-1 scenario instead of 12 also ridiculous. We run 10 in the Busselton Cup pretty sure we can run 12 in a Interdominion Grand Final the best pacing event of the year in Australasia.

This series is rapidly becoming an administrative joke. Change of distances..... change of field sizes..... stewards enquiries into drivers stating the bleeding obvious.......don't use the sprint lane boys its a mirage.

Can't wait for the 2900m final 10 horses with Lenny and Hector drawn 1 & 2 ....I haven't been sleeping well lately so I should be able to remedy that with a couple of minutes of heavy zzzz's.

What was wrong with the old tried and tested format ? 1700m 2100m 2500m heats of 12 horses and final of 2500m for 12 horses ?

The **** will fall out of the series as a punting proposition so once again the return shortfall for the series will impact on the prizemoney availability for horses that will never see an Inters nomination form.

This boutique revisionist crap is ruining the series and costing everyone

Am I alone in thinking Ima Connoisseur can lead throught in his heat?

The only barrier they  won't want with lenny is 1,and only one they won't want .with hector is 10.With hectors gate speed lenny will be able to babysittem from any other barriers.halls will only have a say in  it  if both  boaz,r.o.o   qualify.anyone else sets  there   horse alight will be on a  soup kitchen mission.over 2900.

Would be suprised with Ima Connoisseur gone off the boil a fraction ? ...but $16 is not a bad price each way. Wouldn't take anything under but @$16 seen a lot worse! Jimmy Johnstone out to $2.50 a place inside of the back row drawn behind Freyburg :-? . Waylade tonight might also be a good place chance from the bullet draw.
  • Ridersonthestorm33Ridersonthestorm33    10,942 posts
If the Connoisseur did find the front and not mercilessly attacked the $15 or $16 becomes about $7 or $8. Still not for me...however can see where your coming from Gilgamesh.

Providing he makes it - he will- be interesting to see RunOneover in the final combined with stablemate Boaz the underdogs versus the might of Hector and Lenny. What would make the race Lenny and Hector out in 8 , 9 or 10. The Halls in one and two...race on....dream on!

For mine the only horse capable of a complete blowout series result is Simply Susational or Simply Sensational as Richard Bell calls it

Wonder what Bling It On will do tonight ? At his best he's right up there, an impressive victory over Lenny The Shark two runs ago. Other nights seen him enjoy reasonable runs and not fire a shot.

TABTOUCH INTERDOMINION – Mr. Kyle Harper – BETTORS FIRE

    28 November 2016
    by RWWA
    Logo

Stewards today questioned Driver Mr K Harper (BETTORS FIRE) in relation to comments made on TAB Radio on Sunday 27th November 2016 in relation to his intentions with respect to Heat 2 of the Inter Dominion Series being run at Bunbury tomorrow.

Mr Harper explained that although his choice of words may have been misinterpreted by some listeners, all he meant by his comments were that he believed it would be very hard to beat short price favourite, HECTORJAYJAY because of the barrier draw in Tuesday night’s second heat at Bunbury. As a result of the draw it would be tactically necessary to drive BETTORS FIRE in a more conservative manner to afford it the best opportunity in the race as the horse would have been better suited if drawn more favourably.

The Stewards issued Mr Harper with a reprimand in relation to his comments that left open to question his intentions.

Mr Harper was also reminded of his obligations under the Rules, in particular that the Stewards would be expecting him to demonstrate through his actions, that he was taking all reasonable and permissible measures during the course of a race to ensure that the horse was given full opportunity to win or obtain the best possible placing in the field.

Any failure to comply with this rule would be dealt with accordingly.

Early preview from Gareth Hall and Adam Hamilton on Sky 2.

Adam mention the possibility of snakes in the infield for Gareth to negotiate. Gareth said "Surely not".

Adam said there was a warning sign to that affect at the Secretary's office. Could be interesting if he sees one.

Common Sense, says Bettors fire restrains early as he cant cross Hector. has an easy run and finishes in the top 5 and get enough points to qualify for the final without having a gut buster.

He just said what every one was thinking, Some of these drivers are in a no win situation. do there best to support the industry they are making a living out of. Only to get a Reprimand on something blind freddy can see will and should happen
