Victorian trainer's to meet RVL Integrity Commissioner.
story from The Herald Sun
Colin Alderson, president of the Victorian branch of the Australian Trainers Association, and association federal chief executive John Alducci will convey the call for the State Government to prioritise the introduction of legislation to facilitate the sharing of information between law enforcement agencies and Racing Victoria's integrity department.
Alducci said such a move would "protect and enhance the confidence and integrity of thoroughbred racing".
"The ATA is concerned that the allegations which have been raised are damaging the image of racing," he said.
"If the current Victoria Police inquiries result in charges being laid and successfully prosecuted in relation to race fixing, the ATA is of the view that there is no place in the racing industry for those persons."
Alducci said the trainers believed most of the industry "abide by and respect the rules of racing and are committed to the highest standards of integrity".
He said trainers were the salesmen when it came to attracting owners and there was a need to instil confidence in the industry.
Perna opened an inquiry into race-fixing allegations and urged anyone with information to contact him over the next month.
