2012-13 WA Jockey and Trainers Premierships
The Western Australia Metropolitan Jockeys? Premiership for the 2012-13 season belongs to William Pike however the race for the apprentices? title goes down to the wire on Wednesday at Belmont.
Chris Parnham is snapping at the heels of fellow apprentice Ben Paterson as the two head into the seasons? final meeting, each with a full book of rides.
Paterson currently holds a 2-1/2-win lead, meaning Parnham requires at least three more winners than his rival to clinch the title.
Ironically, Parnham holds a 2-1/2-win lead over Paterson in the state-wide apprentices? premiership.
Parnham has been compared to Western Australia favourite Damien Oliver and, like Oliver, a potential move to the eastern seaboard has been mooted.
Here are Paterson and Parnham?s rides on Wednesday.

Congrats to Ben Paterson on taking the metro apprentices title and Chris for taking the statewide title with more than 80 winners. Big effort both of them and the future looking bright with these two and Mitch Pateman coming through.

Mightn't be a bad year for the Durrant stable.....Leading trainer, horse of the year and his apprentice winning the apprenticeship.....
