And then there were eight! news

And then there were eight!

| Mon 4 July, 2011

A number of one sided matches were on the cards in UTC week five completed on the weekend.

Competition leader Reins was king hit by Torpedo Punt, crushing our competition leader 23 - 15,  knocking him off pole position on the ladder and out of the competition.

The biggest win was by Thumper over Chris 32 - 20 and while Chris was not disgraced with a very competitive score, he was thumped by Thumper!

Likewise, Hitman took a dose of his own medicine, taking more than a few hits from who must now be considered WA's leading media tipster, Greg Hooper! Hoops whacked the Hitman 23 - 17.

Matty H regained his position top of the overall ladder by downing our dark horse Simmo in a 25 - 18 hammering and Punta was too strong after surviving a sudden victory match on Wednesday over Pratty. He won on Saturday, beating Scido 21 - 8.

Our overall highest scoring tispter this week was thedoc, with a massive 34 points. Thumper should consider himself unlucky scoring 32, but the biggest reward of all still remains in his sights, down to the final eight.

UTC is really hotting up now. Stay tuned for an announcement on the Final to be held on Beaufine Stakes Day, July 23.

Isnt the point based NR system with its barrier draw conditions a handicapping system? I mean highest rated horses drawing worse off seems like a handicap
