Mission Abort for Bliss Street
Quality three-year-old Bliss Street was due to fly to Victoria today in preparation for the Thousand Guineas at Caulfield on October 12, but failed to board the flight after trainer Dan Morton was not entirely happy with his charge.
The daughter of Flying Spur recorded an impressive first up victory at Belmont Park recently and was entered in the $125,000 Cap D'Antibes Stakes (1100m) at Flemington on Saturday, as she progressed to the Thousand Guineas during the Spring.
"I was not 100% happy with her, so I have decided to give her another week at home before reassessing her." We are still hoping to have her in Melbourne for the Thousand Guineas, but the horse comes first and we will have to play it by ear at this stage." Morton commented to Perth Racing.
Bliss Street took out the WA Sires Produce Stakes in emphatic style as a two-year-old and after her encouraging return to racing, appeared right on track for the Melbourne Spring.
Morton has not entered Bliss Street at Belmont Park this Saturday.

Isnt the point based NR system with its barrier draw conditions a handicapping system? I mean highest rated horses drawing worse off seems like a handicap

I dont think it matters when they run,,Crowds and turnover is something in the past.. I dont have the answer. I watch at home and punt. Last time I went to G.P would have been 12 months ago to catch up with fellow trotting people..before I went to the Inters.....
