Kingston Town Classic Preview
The Kingston Town Classic is a decent race this year, even if it is devoid of some of the class of previous years. Railway winner, Luckygray meets some of his rivals substantially worse off at the weights, but there probably wasn't a better run in the Railway than his.
Wolfe Dreams and Mega Steel should set up a steady pace with horses like Big Ted, Avienus and Playing God right behind the speed. Luckygray, Kincaple and Tranquility will all probalby have to go back and will need a little luck in the straight. Don't be surprised if King Saul pushes up into the midfield, a tactic he can probably afford to try with only 52kg, and O'Donnell is just the man to pull it off. If he slots in one off and midfield, he's going to be hard to catch with the weight.
Ranger is my pick. He can also position up just behind the speed. It was a big effort to pick himself up in the Railway after copping the worst of the interference. He finished off as well as could be expected. The run prior at WFA where he ran straight past Grand Nirvana and Waratah's Secret, was outstanding. If he produces that here, and he'll have several lengths head start on Luckygray at the top of the straight, he'll be the one to beat.
Battle Emblem copped the interference pretty badly also in the Railway. He was back near last and ran in with Ranger, keeping the same margins to the line. He's no $151 shot in this race. Tranquility and Kincaple have outside claims. They both ran on fairly in the Railway.
Pretty confident Ranger here from Luckygray and the lightweight King Saul. Throw Battle Emblem and Hadabeclorka into the novelties at triple figures each.

My thoughts...Logistically, a trainer getting to the races for a 9am start would be extremely difficult to achieve on a routine basis when travel time & having to be clocked in on course 1 hour before their race at 9am, is taken into consideration. Not to ...

I've just heard that Kristy has got a flight home (Medivac) on Sunday. Her rehab will be long and agonising so as a passionate racing person myself I ask everyone to hope/pray for the best possible outcome for Kristy and the rest of her family
