Hoops tips Pinjarra 19th January
RACE 1 -CHICKEN TREAT GOLDEN NUGGETS MAIDEN 1200m
No. 3 BELLTORIO. Good competitive maiden to start the day. I'm going for (3) BELLTORIO who resumes from a spell for Adam Durrant. He showed enough in his first campaign to suggest he has some ability and his recent trial effort was a real eye catcher. He'll probably settle off the speed but should be rattling home late. (2) RACK ‘EM UP was very good on debut. He went forward from his wide gate, raced without cover and was caught late. He should give them something to catch again. (1) SASS'N'PING resumes from a spell for David Harrison and Paul Harvey takes the mount. His form lines are strong for this event. (8) ON CLOUD NINE trialled well and looks to have ability and as is usual watch betting with the Peters/Williams first starter, (10) Regal Honour.
Numbers - 3, 2, 1, 8
Suggested Bet - Belltorio each way
RACE 2 - ROTISSERIE ROUNDABOUT MAIDEN 1200m
No. 2 FOXING. I'm happy to narrow this event to a couple of chances, they being (2) FOXING and (7) MCBLITZAM. I'll give (2) FOXING the nod just on the basis of his racetrack experience. He's been knocking on the door and from his good gate he should get all the favours in running. (7)MCBLITZAM impressed at the trials. He was very green but won well. He should be very competitive on debut. Of the rest (4) KISSINGER has shown some ability in his short career. (11) MISS HEINEKIN should box seat from her inside draw and has solid top four prospect.
Numbers - 2, 7, 4, 11
Suggested Bet - Foxing win McBlitzam save
RACE 3 - CHICKEN TREAT 12 HOUR MARINADE MAIDEN 1200m
No. 3 EMIRATES LASS. Similar to the first event this maiden contains some depth. (3) EMIRATES LASS does look a nice filly. Her debut was enormous and you can put a line through her effort last week when she never saw an ounce of daylight in the straight. The draw does make it tricky as she'll probably have to go back to last but hopefully she can get a cart into the race and be hard to hold out. (12) LEGGY BLONDE also trialled well. Bombing the start but railing through and winning well. (7) AMUSEMENT PARK makes her debut for the powerful Simon Miller yard. She was a recent trial winner and she should be around the mark. (8) ASTRA SKY trialled nicely, she was finishing off strongly under little riding (5) STAY LADY STAY was beaten a head on debut and has obviously claims off that performance.
Numbers - 3, 8, 12, 7
Suggested Bet - Emirates Lass each way
RACE 4 - PINJARRA'S FAVOURITE CHICKEN MAIDEN 1400m
No. 13 ADIRA. There is very little to work with in this maiden. Without any conviction I'll go for (13) ADIRA who raced never got warm over the 1190m at Narrogin. At the end of her last preparation she finished second on three occasions behind some relatively smart gallopers. She finds that form she would win this. (3) VIVA LA BAM BAM resumes from a spell. He has showed glimpses of ability previously. He won his recent trial but had to be pushed out to the line. (5) PARADOR was sound when he had to bullock his way into the clear in the straight.
Numbers - 13, 3, 5, 15
Numbers - None recommended
RACE 5 - CHICKEN TREAT CHASE HANDICAP 1000m
No. 4 BEACH EXPRESS. With the early scratching of the stable mate, Saytorio, I'll go for (4) BEACH EXPRESS makes his debut for Durrant camp. He was a very impressive recent trial winner, leading and winning comfortably. He should be ready to go for this first up assignment. (7) UNION CITY broke a frustrating run of outs when he got the job done in his first run for the Sean Casey stable. He should go very close again. (5) HABOOB is a track and distance specialist who is always a chance in these events. (3) KIDDY CAT won at his last start up the straight and he looks the other main chance.
Numbers - 4, 7, 5, 3
Suggested bet - None recommended
RACE 6 - CHICKEN TREAT COUNTRY STYLE CLASS ONE HANDICAP 2000m
No. 1 SCOTLAND STREET. I'm happy to play here as I think (1) SCOTLAND STREET will take a stack of beating. Peter Knuckey was a victim of circumstances last week as he had this bloke in a gem of a sot but as the leaders were caving in he was forced to take the lead and go for home on straightening. He was left a sitting shot and reeled in late. I wouldn't be surprised to see him lead or settle in the breeze in this race so he can control the tempo. Either position suits or I think he'll be too good. (8) MADAM JEWEL looked a moral at Narrogin and she duly saluted in a dominant fashion. This is much tougher but she should appreciate the 2000m. (2) SCAPINDIPITY is still a maiden but he will break through sooner rather than later I suspect. His two runs this preparation have both been good and he has solid each way claims. (4) ENDLESS SACRIFICE has her chance at Narrogin last start but was unable to get over her rivals. She is racing like the 2000m should suit.
Numbers 1, 8, 2, 4
Suggested Bet - Scotland Street each way if odds permit
RACE 7 - SOUTHWEST FOODS PURSUIT HANDICAP 1000m
No. 8 ESTRALLA. This is wide open event with a host of chances. Going for (8) ESTRALLA who is the big class dropper in this event and has drawn the right side. We saw last week a couple of straight races were won by horses hugging the outside fence, hopefully a repeat in this race. (9) TALK AND TEASE certainly has winning claims. She has shown herself to be a very good straight track performer. (12) SPLIT THE FAITH has drawn the wrong side but definitely has claims on the strength of her debut win. (7) OUR IVY ran well behind a talented type at her most recent outing, a repeat sees her with solid claims. Plenty of other hopes as well.
Numbers 8, 9, 12, 7
Suggested Bet - None recommended
RACE 8 - CHICKEN TREAT SUMMER FEAST FAMILY CLASSIC 1600m
No. 7 LIGHTHOUSE DANCING. A good competitive finish to the day with a number of winning hopes. I'll go for (7) LIGHTHOUSE DANCING. He was a good winner a couple of starts back when he settled off the speed and worked home over the top of his rivals. He was ridden forward last time out and gave a good fight only to be caught near the post. Ridden a bit colder I think he'll finish off strongly. (1) BORN TO BE BAD is bursting to win a race, the question can he breakthrough? He should get all the favours in running and be finishing powerfully late again. I haven't sacked (2) HEART PLAY yet. I prefer to him drawn out as he should peel to the outside and unwind. He's horse that likes galloping room. (10) SPILLANE will forward and make his own luck and he has top four prospects.
Numbers - 7, 1, 2, 10
Suggested Bet - None recommended

My thoughts...Logistically, a trainer getting to the races for a 9am start would be extremely difficult to achieve on a routine basis when travel time & having to be clocked in on course 1 hour before their race at 9am, is taken into consideration. Not to ...

I've just heard that Kristy has got a flight home (Medivac) on Sunday. Her rehab will be long and agonising so as a passionate racing person myself I ask everyone to hope/pray for the best possible outcome for Kristy and the rest of her family
