So You Think flies out for Dubai World Cup
story from The Australian:
DUAL Cox Plate winner So You Think left Ireland overnight bound for the United Arab Emirates and a start in Saturday night's $US10 million ($9.5m) Dubai World Cup (2000m) at Meydan.
And the former Bart Cummings-trained stallion will have a new jockey. Joseph O'Brien, son of So You Think's trainer Aiden O'Brien, has been engaged for the mount.
It will be the 19-year-old's biggest race ride, but continues the 179cm rider's phenomenal rise in the sport which he seems destined to outgrow even before his full potential is realised.
He won the Breeders' Cup Turf on St Nicholas Abbey at Churchill Downs last November and is unbeaten in two rides on reigning guineas favourite Camelot, but his size may force him to a career over the jumps, sooner rather than later.
O'Brien is third favourite at 7-2 behind even-money favourite Johnny Murtagh and Patrick Smullen (11-8) to win this year's Irish jockeys' championship.

So You Think has not started since finishing sixth to Drosselmeyer in the Breeders' Cup Classic at Churchill Downs in November on dirt. He will be on the all-weather Tapeta surface at Meydan, where he is expected to start favourite with British bookmakers come race time.
Early markets have So You Think the 3-1 favourite ahead of Smart Falcon (5-1), Game On Dude (7-1) and Zazou (10-1).
His last win was five starts back in the Group I Eclipse Stakes at Sandown, in England.
The horse will be the first runner for Coolmore in almost seven years, signalling the end of an apparent stand-off between the Irish thoroughbred racing and breeding giant and the Maktoum family.
Australia runners Sepoy and Helmet will complete their build-up to their respective races on Dubai World Cup night with final fast gallops tomorrow.
The Peter Snowden-trained pair have done well in the past fortnight. Helmet runs in the $US1m UAE Derby (1900m) and Sepoy tackles the $US2m Golden Shaheen. Kerrin McEvoy will ride the pair.
Classy mare Ortensia, trained by Paul Messara, worked on the straight course on Saturday. She will be ridden by Craig Wiilliams in the $US1m Alquoz Sprint.
lIt will be business as usual for now but new Queensland racing minister Tim Nicholls will appoint an advisory panel that will return each of the racing codes back to their own boards and remove the umbrella body known as Racing Queensland.

My thoughts...Logistically, a trainer getting to the races for a 9am start would be extremely difficult to achieve on a routine basis when travel time & having to be clocked in on course 1 hour before their race at 9am, is taken into consideration. Not to ...

I've just heard that Kristy has got a flight home (Medivac) on Sunday. Her rehab will be long and agonising so as a passionate racing person myself I ask everyone to hope/pray for the best possible outcome for Kristy and the rest of her family
