RACE 1 - WESTSPEED NURSERY HANDICAP 1000m

No. 12 KORENICA - A capacity line-up of juveniles to kick off the day. I'll speculate with the first starter, (12) KORENICA and put her on top. I've liked her trials particularly her most recent effort when she was attacking the line late under a firm hold. The outside draw does make it tough but if she does get some luck in running I think she will finish strongly. (5) GARANCE looks a major chance of making it back to back wins. From barrier 5 she'll likely settle outside the leader again so if she repeats she goes close. (4) FOUND IT trialled nicely, coming from off the pace but finishing all over his rivals. The draw means he'll get back in running but he should be strong late. (6) RU DE MARENGO is honest but always seems to find one a bit better.
Numbers - 12, 5, 4, 6

Suggested Bet - None recommended

RACE 2 - BUNBURY MOTEL HANDICAP 1200m

No. 1 EXCLUSIVE HONOUR - I'll stick with the race form and go for (1) EXCLUSIVE HONOUR. His two runs back this preparation have been good, particularly his most recent effort when he was held up in the straight and rattled into second behind the subsequent Saturday winner, Just Wicked. Jordon Mallyon on, drawn a middle gate, he'll be hard to beat. (8) BIG CLINT has always had a boom attached to him but so far has delivered nothing when it counts. He now finds himself in the care of David Harrison and going by his two recent trials he looks ready to fire first up, however, I just want to see him produce on race day before I put him on top.(2) LET'S LIGHTEN UP returns from a freshen up and he has solid claims on his best form. (3) PALMDALE will get back and should be finishing strongly.
Numbers - 1, 8, 2, 3

Suggested Bet - Exclusive Honour each way if odds permit

RACE 3 - WESTSPEED 3YO HANDICAP 1200m

No. 4 ALLEZ MARSEILLES - A good competitive three-year-old fillies race with a host of winning chances. I'll go for some value with my top pick and put (4) ALLEZ MARSEILLES on top. She's pint sized mare who has a big finish on her when she is on song. She's had two barrier trials to tune her up for return to the track and on both occasions she was asked for nothing. She is a get back runner so she'll always need some luck but hopefully she can be within striking distance when she straightens. (12) READY ON TIME makes her WA debut for Fred Kersley. She's a filly with ability and her win at Wangaratta in January was arrogant. First up no trial is the question. (2) NINE TENORS had no luck at her recent outing getting held up practically the entire straight. From barrier 12 she might be able to burn over and lead. (1) SPLIT TH TE FAITH has won two from four including an all the way win before her spell.
Numbers - 4, 12, 2, 1

Suggested Bet - Allez Marseilles each way

RACE 4 - NORMAN WOOD HANDICAP 1200m

No. 7 HURRITDANZ - There a few tricky races on this program and this certainly looks to be one. I'LL go for (7) HURRITDANZ although I do think he might start under the odds with Paul Harvey aboard. He'll sit in the first few and will be in front somewhere in the straight, it will just be a matter of whether he can see out the 1200m. (6) STATEMENTS has been freshened up since his last win when he came from off the speed and won well at Pinjarra. He's a definite winning chance. (1) UNDERCOVER LIZZY has been very disappointing this preparation. At her best she'd win this. (9) REALE FURY resumes from a spell without a trial but he's a galloper who can really finish powerfully in his races.
Numbers - 7, 6, 1, 9

Suggested Bet - None recommended

RACE 5 - PETER GANGEMI HANDICAP 1000m

No. 3 DURRAHMOORE - There looks to be stacks of pace in this race with Donnyonetime, Ima Citnpretty, Painted, Bull Durham, Yerakina, Beguile and Master Tenby all capable of going forward and running along early. I'll go for (3) DURRAHMOORE who resumes from a spell and is clearly more effective over further but hopefully with the expected hot speed up front she can sit back and zap these late. She's a Saturday class galloper in a midweek race, I always like that! (1) DESIRE PATH is another mare who will enjoy the hot speed. I think she'll finish powerfully and go close. (6) PAINTED is racing in terrific form and if he can get a little bit of luck from his gate he's good chance. They took a sit on (11) BEGUILE last start and she didn't really let down. I wouldn't be surprised if the handle bars went down early and she gives them something to catch.
Numbers - 3, 1, 6, 11

Suggested Bet - Durrahmoore each way

RACE 6 - RDA BRAKES STOPS THE NATION HANDICAP 1650m

No. 6 SUSHI WARRIOR - A good standard midweek race and it should be each way odds the field. On class alone (6) SUSHI WARRIOR should be very hard to beat. He was a little scratchy first up however he did resume without the benefit of a trial, it was a leader dominated race and he wasn't knocked around late. There are enough excuses there for me to put a line through the first up performance. If he can settle around midfield then I think he'll be hard to hold out. (4) ONE COOL QUEEN is really going well this preparation for her new trainers. She was desperately unlucky when resuming from a spell and last time she got a mile out of her ground and attacked the line with gusto late. The only query is she hasn't won for close to two years. (10) VACQUEYRAS hasn't had any luck at his last couple of starts, hopefully he can keep out of trouble from his wide gate and produce down the outside. (8) JANUARY BOYS was a comfortable winner at Albany at his most recent outing and the Steve Wolfe stable is ticking over beautifully at present.
Numbers - 6, 4, 10, 8

Suggested Bet - None recommended

RACE 7 - STEEL BLUE HANDICAP 1300m

No. 11 SAD EYES - If you can find the winner of this race your better than me as I found it impossible! Without any confidence I'll go for (11) SAD EYES who I think is a mare coming through the grades. She resumes from a spell and has had the benefit of a recent trial in which she won but was pushed out. In a tricky race I'll give her the nod. (5) AFRICAN DAWN also resumes from a spell. She showed enough last preparation to suggest she would be more than competitive at this level. She was asked for little in a recent trial. (10) PETTICOAT LANE was an impressive winner at Northam last start and there is no reason why she can't butter up in this. (7) EBONY BUZZ is another who resumes from a spell and has shown solid form previously. The more I look at this race the more I suspect I'll be taking FD in the quad.
Numbers - 11, 5, 10, 7

Suggested Bet - None recommended

RACE 8 - HPM LEGRAND HANDICAP 1300m

No. 8 ISEETHINGSYOUDON'T - A good competitive finish to the day but I'm happy to be on the impressive debut winner, (8) ISEETHINGSYOUDON'T. He was heavily commissioned on the back of a couple of impressive trial wins and he didn't his supporters down parking just behind the speed and coming clear late after he was pushed wide on straightening. From barrier 2 he should get a lovely run trailing the likely leader Wild West Willy. I think we can save the best to last! (7) EQUINE EAGLE won well at Pinjarra, following the outside rail and getting there late. Paul Harvey retains the mount and he looms with good winning claims. (2) PRINCE TED resumes from a spell and he has had the benefit of a solid barrier trial hit out. He's well graded at this level. (9) PROPHET OF WAR resumes, he was asked little in a recent trial and he should be finishing strongly late.

Numbers - 8, 7, 2, 9

Suggested Bet - Iseethingsyoudon't each way

My thoughts...Logistically, a trainer getting to the races for a 9am start would be extremely difficult to achieve on a routine basis when travel time & having to be clocked in on course 1 hour before their race at 9am, is taken into consideration. Not to ...

I've just heard that Kristy has got a flight home (Medivac) on Sunday. Her rehab will be long and agonising so as a passionate racing person myself I ask everyone to hope/pray for the best possible outcome for Kristy and the rest of her family
