The money came hard before the race for United Again ridden by P. Harvey. The opening favourite Ruling Force drifted from $3.00 to $4.00. Although drifting, Ruling Force jumped favourite after its last start win at Bunbury.
Cesc came from out wide to take the lead and push the horses along early. At the turn of the home straight Cesc had the lead with Buster Dee on its inside, but Ruling Force managed to work its way up on the straight to hit the front with about 300m to go. Once in front, Ruling Force was able to hold off some fast finishers that included August Knight, Ram Jam and Via Laurentina.
Results
1. 1 RULING FORCE $4.00/$2.00
2. 2 AUGUST KNIGHT $4.70
3. 7 RAM JAM $4.60
Horse to follow:
Via Laurentina – First start for the horse from the Parnham stable. Was across heels the entire race, tried to find an opening on the turn but couldn’t find the gap. The opening finally came on the straight where it kicked strongly and stormed home in the last 100m to get fourth.

Snitchs ran favourite on the tote, after coming off consecutive seconds at Pinjarra and Albany.
A small field for race two saw Snitchs and My Lovely Lovely jump to the lead showing early speed to be in control. Lequest took off three wide as they approached the corner and hit the lead 275m from home. Finality trailed Lequest its whole run, and Blitz off trailed Finality as it worked its way to the outside of Lequest. They both kicked but it was Finality who was able to push past the leaders and hold on for a victory in a busy finish at nice odds.
Results
1. 7 FINALITY $27.70/$4.40
2. 5 LEQUEST $2.00
3. 8 HEXPRESS $1.80
Horse to follow:
Biscabeel – A horse at nice odds, sat on the rail at the tail end of the field. Moved up at about the half way mark, but was still boxed in on the fence. It managed to get out when Blitz off pulled out wide, but was still second last at the 275m mark. Once in the open, it kicked hard and drove through late to finish fourth in a photo. If in a similar mid-week or country race, it may be worth putting a few dollars on it.

California Dude was all the rage before the race and was able to salute for punters. Wicked Game also received some late money, especially on track, but ran a very disappointing race.
California Dude had a great start but was headed off by Soonest. Russel Road worked hard to get to the outside of Soonest as they went past the 700m mark. Soonest and Russell Road kicked away by 3.5 lengths around the turn, but California Dude picked up late and was able to overpower the tired leaders to salute for the punters. Soonest and Russel Road fought hard to finish second and fourth respectively.
Results
1. 6 CALIFORNIA DUDE $3.50/$1.60
2. 10 SOONEST $1.70
3. 9 ELLAVAMOMENT $2.10
Horses to follow:
Ellavamoment – This horse was on the rail coming into the straight, it worked up to the leaders, so C. Parnham moved it to the middle where it fought incredibly hard to bolt to the finish line. Definitely a horse to watch in similar grades and fields.
California Dude – Was the favourite coming into the race and P. Knuckey rode it perfectly. It sat just behind the two leaders who worked hard early and was able to pass them in the last 50m to win for punters. The race was set up perfectly with it sitting just behind the speed and it showed class and fighting spirit to overpower the field.

The punters only wanted two horses for this race, Grand Palace and Blackwall Reach. They both eased on track before the race, but were still the two preferred horses by punters.
A full field for this race where we saw Romany Bel get away nicely to take the early lead. Fair exchange and Keg Mouse worked up to be the front two at the 600m mark and the two kicked away on the straight to have a nice lead. Romany Bel worked up into the race on the rail and was able to hit the front in the last 50m to win at odds of $50+.
Results
1. 11 ROMANY BEL $52.80/$11.10
2. 8 FAIR EXCHANGE $4.60
3. 4 KEG MOUSE $3.00
Horses to follow:
The Danehill Rose – This horse found itself mid-field and boxed between runners for a lot of the run. It came across heels at the 275m mark, so Turner pulled it to the middle of the track to give it room to run home. It came home late and took ground off the leaders but had left it too late and could only manage fourth place. With more luck, this horse can win in this grade and at this distance.

The money came late for Sireeze and it didn’t let punters down.
A tightly contested race early with a big field, saw Weekend Rustler trying to make an impression on the race by going out hard. This horse was unable to keep this pace going, so Sireeze worked around the leaders on the bend and kicked in front at the 200m mark. Sireeze stretched out and won comfortably. Soaring lad at nice odds fought hard and battled to the line for second place, while Trading Day kicked in the last 100m to finish third.
Results
1. 3 SIREEZE $3.80/$1.80
2. 15 SOARING LAD $4.10
3. 1 TRADING DAY $2.50
Horses to follow:
Sireeze – A. Kennedy rode the perfect race on Sireeze and this horse did it easily. It sat in the perfect position and pulled around them on the bend and was able to cruise to victory. A classy performance and a horse to watch.
Trading Day – This horse wass back further than White would have liked. When it got the spot on the rail, it kicked hard in the last 100m to take distance from the leaders and finish over the others for third. In a similar race, if ridden closer to the lead, it can definitely play a part and win a race.

Jack ‘n’ Sam had the late money and started favourite, although there wasn’t a big difference between that and Oraletto, who got some late support.
The first leg of the quaddie was a big field. Oraletto was able to jump well and worked to the front to have the lead on the rails. Brown rode Oraletto perfectly, he got it to the front, steadied it on the turn and then let it kick away on the straight, destroying the field and winning easily by 3 lengths.
Results
1. 14 ORALETTO $3.90/$1.60
2. 6 REAL BONITA $2.90
3. 3 JACK ‘N’ SAM $2.30
Horses to follow:
Oraletto – This horse showed high gate speed, jumped to the front and then accelerated away and was way too good for this moderate company. One to watch as it tries to work through the grades.
Izjalu – If you are trying to look for something outside of the favourite to keep an eye on, then this horse was the one to put in your black book. From barrier 12, it had an average jump so Mitchell had to let it sit wide at the tail of the field. Mitchell pulled out wide around the bend and was then the widest horse as it came in to the straight. Izjalu ended up in the middle of the track and showed some great finishing speed to finish fourth. If it can get a better barrier and jump quicker, then this horse will be hard to beat in a similar field. This horse may look for some more distance in future runs.

Another tough race for punters, in which the money came for Priceless Cat, but it was unable to get the chocolates for punters.
Beach Avenue (barrier 12), Velvet Assassin (barrier 14) and Queen Of Quincy (barrier 15) all worked hard out of the barrier to get to the front of the field. Priceless Cat managed to work to third and pulled around Beach Avenue and Velvet Assassin on the straight to hit the front and seemed to have the race won. However, Little Shadow charged home on the inside and managed to get the bob in the photo finish to beat the favourite.
Results
1. 9 LITTLE SHADOW $6.60/$2.30
2. 7 PRICELESS CAT $1.50
3. 13 SECRET MELDOY $10.50
Horse to follow:
Little Shadow – Didn’t have a lot of room throughout the race, but once P. Carbery was able to get it to the open on the inside, it kicked strongly and was able to catch the favourite and get the photo finish by the bob. A strong, fighting performance by this horse.

Assests ‘n’ Cash had won 2 from 5 and was the horse that punters wanted. It didn’t disappoint, as the Knuckey/Durrant combination got the cash for punters.
There wasn’t a great deal of speed early in the race, so majestic Boy ridden by Bohorun decided to work around the field and try and get them to stretch out. The field started to string out at the 800m mark, so Knuckey let Assets ‘n’ Cash work up at the 700m mark to go around one of its main rivals in Finnegans Gold. Assets ‘n’ Cash reached the lead closing in on the finish, but Carniolan fought hard on the rails to make the finish go to a photo. Assets ‘n’ Cash was given the result to make it 3 from 6 at for the Adam Durrant horse.
Results
1. 7 ASSETS ‘N’ CASH $2.90/$1.40
2. 8 CARNIOLAN $4.20
3. 11 NAMISUKI $3.70
Horses to follow:
Boy Mambo – This horse had no luck early while Noske tried to get it into position. Noske had to pull it wide around the corner and was a mile off the leaders at the 250m mark. Once in the clear, it made some good ground on the leaders. It was its last 100m that makes this a horse to watch, as it hit the line hard and took ground off the others. Add this horse to your black books and we will continue to watch the process of this horse.

Wonorg was all the rage on track before this race as it went from $6’s into $3.80. It could only manage third as the first four in the last paid over $47,000.
The pace was on early in this race as Octagene worked across from barrier 17 to join Distinctive Dane as the leading two in the early stages with Wonorg sitting just behind the these two. The pace continued and at the 800m mark Octagene was still the front runner but was joined by I owe you and other horses that were enjoying the fast tempo. This fast tempo would be the downfall of these horses and would mean that Daneclicked and Rock Bar who were at the back end of the field, were able to pull around the others and finish over the top of the field.
Results
1. 1 DANECLICKED $42.20/$10.10
2. 9 ROCK BAR $11.30
3. 5 WONORG $1.60

Add Ian Lenton to that list, also getting a media profile and keen to do more in the media.

well there is certainly a few positions in the media that can be taken with a good attitude. Whilst we have a few long term and valuable icons that you never want to see move on....maybe if a few of these guys put their hands up it may be the gentle nudge that...

I hope so. Adam is keen to break into the media (moreso than he already has). His show obviously covers all things sport but his passion is the racing side of things. Chris will format it a little better when he gets back from hols so its an easier read. I ...

Agree Diva..even if there is stuff I dont agree with..it is good to have another view point to look at, especially when marking horses to watch..We get so many previews but next to no reviews.....Is it going to be a regular feature??
