Barakey unbeatable
Barakey will take on just five other runners in what has turned out to be a lack lustre Group 3 Colonel Reeves (1100m).
With the tragic injury to Scenic Blast, one of the world's best sprinters, the race is left lacking with just the ever consistent Werd, Waratah's Secret and Highly Toxic, other former feature winners.
Waratah's Secret at his best would have given Barakey some competition however he is far from the form that won him two Prince of Wales and a Scahill Stakes. Waratah's Secret is reported to have several issues including a breathing or wind issue.
Barakey will go out the shortest priced favourite in recent memory and is quoted a $1.10 shot in early markets.
It is not unheard of for such a short priced favourite to come unstuck however. Cast your memory back to Dark Target's defeat as the $1.24 favourite in the RS Crawford Stakes on Melbourne Cup Day in 2008 where he returned with an elevated heart rate. One would think however that this would be the only way Barakey could be defeated tomorrow.
Punta Bookmaking will be "betting without the favourite" for those oncourse interested in having a punt on the race.

Listed as an unraced 3YO. It's rating would be 59. Has to be a mistake.
