Bombora crunched in Hannans move

Simon Miller couldn't be happier with the progress of Bombora heading into today's $130,000 Hannan's Handicap at Kalgoorlie.

After opening at $4.20 on Player fixed odds, Bombora has been heavily supported into $3.30 since markets opened.

Bombora resumed 11 days ago after a short let up, leading and going down in the last stride to the up and coming Kalahaar. Connections contend that Bombora was not particularly suited that day, forced in to the leading role with apprentice Jordan Mallyon aboard.

Regular rider Paddy Carbery goes back aboard today and Bombora should get a perfect run just behind the pace.

The dangers are no doubt to be multiple group winner Colour Correct, who showed he was back in form after an impressive first up effort behind Mega Steel in the Farnley Stakes, also 11 days ago. Texan attempts to take the next step, coming out of a 74+ 1200m race where he got all the favours, and has to step up in both class and distance from one of the widest gates. Rider Peter Knuckey will have some decisions to make early but will no doubt press forward with the likes of Sonny Biscay and On The Carpet.

Texan has drifted from $4.80 to $5.50 while Colour Correct has been steady at $5.50.
