Snitsky looking for Perth Listed riches news

Snitsky looking for Perth Listed riches

Perth Turf Talk | Metropolitan Racing | Tue 30 July, 2013

Promising, lightly raced Snitzel Entire 'Snitsky', packed his bags this afternoon and left his Rosehill stables bound for Perth where he will attempt to win 3 Listed races at Belmont in WA over the next 6 weeks.

Snitsky has been a great money spinner for the Darby Racing owners winning 6 of his 16 starts and trained by Gerald Ryan. A plan was hatched a month ago to make the long trek to Perth to Contest the following-

Saturday, 10 August 2013 Belmont NEWMARKET 1200 $100,000 3up Hcp Belmont Park

Saturday, 24 August 2013 GOODWOOD SPRINT 1300 $100,000 3up SWFA Belmont Park

Saturday, 7 September 2013 FARNLEY STAKES 1400 $100,000 3up Hcp Belmont Park

The idea behind the trip was to try and win some valuable Black type for the son of Snitzel as a couple of the owners also share ownership in the Dam of Snitsky - 'Bandolera'. It will also be good test to see how he measures up in these races with a look to run him possibly in the bigger sprint races towards the end of the year over there.

Monday afternoon he left for Victoria where he will fly out on Wednesday over to Perth.

Trainer Gerald Ryan believes that provided he handles the long journey and remains in the form he is in now, he will be very competitive. "He's right in the zone at the moment after his short let up on the water walker and his narrow defeat at Warwick Farm, his work the other morning was the best he's ever gone".

Snitsky is a strapping son of Snitzel out of the Dehere mare Bandolera the daughter of Group 2 winner Pampered Star who was also twice Group 1 placed in the USA.

The horse can race at home for just the same amount of money. The reference to increases in stakesmoney driving the decision is a stretch. It was the grade of race that was attractive and that the black type would enhance the page of the horse, or so they clai...

Should be more come over as there are a lot horses over there that consistently run 4th or 5th that could come here and pick up  race or two I have tried to buy a couple but they want too much for them
