Waratah's Secret back to the drawing board
Waratah's Secret has returned to the track in career worst form after a fruitless jaunt to Victoria for the Newmarket Handicap earlier this year.
The big son of Oratorio has since failed dismally in two trials, first trounced by Flying Affair at Lark Hill, before running last of four runners at Belmont yesterday.
Waratah's Secret had a throat operation after his last of 22 runners in the Newmarket Handicap in March and he seems to have since lost his spark. Jim Taylor will try the blinkers in another trial before deciding his next steps. He was no doubt looking towards the fast approaching Goodwood Sprint over 1300m on the 25th of August.
We may just have seen the best of this outstanding three time Group III winner.
