William Pike suffers shoulder injury at Belmont

Perth Turf Talk | Metropolitan Racing | Wed 4 September, 2013

Leading rider William Pike will not be lining up in Saturday's feature race, the 1400m Farnley Stakes, after being dislogged from Hudson River before the first race today. He was replaced for all of his rides on the day.

He'll miss at least a week of racing with a dislocated shoulder and the Kalgoorlie carnival also appears in jeopardy.

The ambulance was forced to leave Belmont resulting in a delay to the opening race.

Even if "only" a sub-lux he'll be out for a lot longer than a week.If a full dislocation then he'll be lucky to be back for the carnival. Hopefully a re-con isn't needed but regardless he will still need a lot of rehab
