Yuill recovering after race fall news

Yuill recovering after race fall

Matt Rigby | Metropolitan Racing | Mon 10 September, 2012

Kyra Yuill took a nasty tumble in Saturday's Apprentices Cup while riding the Warwick Bradshaw trained Grandstand. Her mount was tracking nicely into the race, wide outside of Hello Hero (Jordan Mallyon) just prior to the accident.

Yuill sustained a broken ankle but also a head injury that needs to be monitored before the ankle can be operated on. She is recovering well.

Kyra had an outstanding previous season, winning the leading apprentice award and taking out the Perth Cup on Western Jewel on New Year's Eve. She was by far the most experienced apprentice in Saturday's race.

Jordan Mallyon (Hello Hero) has been asked to attend an inquiry along with Kyra this week to examine the cause of the fall.
