Yeah that's why I thought I'd chime in, to correct him! Fair few silly rumours getting about at the moment which aren't true

It sure was. Gotta love the Ascot rumour mill, Home And Away script writers could copy some of the stories that get thrown around !

Because Bobby has been listening to Irish Whispers..., and might be wise to check his facts.

lets look at it this way....if he was to be out for any length of time by a equine related accident there would have been a snippet in the press. ok?
there wasn't.....so lets leave it at that. note, i said an "equine related" and not a "riding accident"...

Would not be certain of that Falc, maybe in the city edition, but yet to see anything in the Country edition about poor Like An Eagle. (unless I missed it through bleary eyes)

 OK here I am checking for facts... since you seem to be very close to the source you should be able to tell us all.

I have no idea why sooo many people would want to invent a rumour about such a straight-forward thing as a jockey getting injured if that's all that happened. Maybe because it is true (at least in part). Sure the Chinese whispers might kick in and make it slightly more interesting but c'mon mate, why would anyone care enough to take it from a riding (or equine) incident and turn it into a good old case of getting knee-capped if it wasn't close to the truth? Or is he on compo from it and you wanna stick to the story?

FACT: Staeck was injured riding a horse in Esperance during trackwork last month. As a result he has recently had a knee reconstruction. I doubt you'll find you'll get much press about an incident in the country which at the time seemed minor but ended up being more serious than first thought.

The rumours getting around about getting "knee-capped" are very humorous. It started off with a few jokes getting thrown around then some outsiders have obviously taken some comments seriously and the inuendo has escelated from there. Quite funny considering how far it is from the truth!
  • I was under the impression it was one of Frank Maynards horses in Esperance that did the damage, ole Frank was on another horse at the scene of the crime

Dunc is having weight problems, one too many Donuts

Pistons story same I that I was told in Esperance last week. No not close to anyone, but close to the "scene of the crime"
