G'day, Im new to this forum, sorry if the topic has been raised before.

Im interested to know the best TAB's within a 10km radius of the city? I raise this topic due to the fact that id rather bet online than punt at my local TAB. My weekday TAB is the Hay st and the place cannot be knocked, but when I head into my local on the weekend id prefer to put money into a machine than deal with some staff working behind the counter. I feel the standard of customer service at some TAB outlets is well below par and its no wonder more punters are betting online these days!

    hear ya loud and clear....

Try the one at The Peninsula Tavern in Maylands..not sure if they have the auto machines but the workers behind the counter are very good..Place is really clean and well looked after...not sure I'd have too many drinks at the bar though!!!!

And a few guys on here hang around at The Charles in North Perth...pretty good set up...and no problems drinking from that bar!!!!!

Matty H , living in the area some time ago The Herdy was fine for me , great service while you have a drink with mates , thing is most pub tabs will try to double dip and service the bar and tote with the same number of staff resulting in the punter getting short changed so to speak , either stick to your local tote (hay st) where you are comfortable or just grab some beers and mates and sit at home and watch the day unfold , less dickheads to put up with

At my local country pub tab (arguably the worst in WA) - which I have refused to visit for a few years now - bar "fly's" can view the tote machines from behind, enabling them to see how much you have bet or collected!!

Comments like "Gee nice win there !!" or secretly "tight arse only bets a dollar".

How is a TAB (and a busy one at that) allowed to get away with such an invasion on privacy??? Is there no standards in this regard.

And its only 100 k from Perth.

there are TAB flies as well...Blokes hitting you up for a loan after you collect.
Then theres alot who simply shouldnt be there,,,Its like mate...take your money and buy some clothes or food you bum..

Im lucky....I bet over the bar..while having a beer on a mates account if i choose...However alcohol and gambling dont really go hand in hand, despite what the casino might have us think..

South Perths really nice..clean clean clean and nice friendly staff...think an Indian couple run it .Bit Sterile tho

The Charles is ok...accept for a few dodgy characters    who cant be named

The Carlisle....friendly staff/little saturday comp $5 buy in...downside Idiots from the pub / no shoe sorts/Blow ins talking louder than the race while standing up infront of you (that pi$$es me right off).Small screens ...with all this its still a nice Tab due to the staff who always make you welcome...Nice friendly feel

Mends St (south Perth) is good yes.
Easy to slip in and out (unhassled), good service, and back to The Windsor to finish your perve......I mean beer

Hyde Park Hotel PubTAB since the renovation is small, but very good! And a nice place for a beer or feed.

My local is horrible - I get in and out quick smart! It smells bad too!

the Baysie hotel! Good food, decent bar and some hotties come in from time to time too!!! Just be careful of the punter wearing the glasses who always goes off his rocker when he is losing - which is almost every race! If you are within earshot you will cop it!
