GARRY LYON, THE SEQUEL!

East Coast Racing
I note that the original thread has disappeared, fair enough.

As I said at the time, Bill's issue and he confirmed that last night, was that while he was crying about his divorce to Garry, Garry was cohabiting with Bill's wife. I also said that the rumours about the daughter were false.

I have been told today by a source that I consider to be reliable, that Garry, who is a surly character at the best of times, is not suffering from anything other than the fact that he got caught and is embarrassed beyond belief, is not at home, and has in fact gone overseas to get get away from it all.
Apparently Newman Brayshaw etc. are aware of this and covered it up last night by pretending that Garry was watching at home.

My source is intimately involved in with the Melbourne Football Club, and tells me that the information is being kept in house but is correct.

My source has been accurate in the past so I have no reason not to believe the information.

However, whether my source is correct or not and  Garry is here or overseas, it appears that even if Bill and Garry do have a few "frothy's" together some day down the track, none of us who watch the footy show, will ever look at the pair again in the same way as we have in the past.

Anyway, I don't know about any of you, but I squirmed as I watched Billy's hands shaking and breaking down about his kids. It was the most unedifying thing I have seen in a long time. A statement read out by Brayshaw should have been enough, if, in fact, anything was necessary at all.

What made it all worse for me, was that stupid idiotic look that Newman gets on his face when asking a question. He looks like a complete buffoon and makes you wonder whether or not he does have any empathy at all with his "great mate" Bill.

@bookielover Were Lyon and Billy's ex wife only an item after the break up or is their suggestion they were on before that?

    Hi TRK,

According to what I have been told, Lyon and Nikki were only an item after the break up. Lyon was into his second separation from his wife Melissa. They had previously separated in 2009.
He and Nikki had been with each other for about three months before Billy found out.

Let's face it. If a bloke is separated from his missus and his best mate has divorced his wife, why should they be barred from getting together? There is nothing illegal in it, and as far as morality is concerned which was one of the things that Bill was on about last night, that's a load of cr@p. If two people are separated and or divorced from their husbands and wives, where is it written that they shouldn't get together just because they are all close friends with each other.

Where Lyon and Billy's missus did the wrong thing in Billy's eyes and to some extent I tend to agree with him because they were so close, was not going to Billy and saying, look Bill, we fancy each other and we want to see each other. We aren't asking your permission, but we don't want to go behind your back.

As I said in the first post, the divorce really hurt Bill and the bloke he sought out in order to receive some comfort and consolation was Garry. While he's doing that, unbeknownst to him, Garry is having it off with Bills missus, and that's what got to Bill the most.

My original mail was that Garry was suffering severe depression, and was at his house in Hawthorn being comforted by his wife Melissa. That is the story that has been in the media.

As you can see, I have since been told something else entirely.

When you think about it, Brayshaw and Newman last night, kept hammering home about how much Garry was suffering, and that he "was in a dark place", and let's not forget that he's going through hell etc etc.

Think about what that repetition does to the average viewer. They think, yes, we feel for Billy. But let's face it, he is in fact divorced. Garry is separated. So Billy doesn't like the fact that Garry is porking his missus. So what.

What about poor Gazza. He's in a state of total mental breakdown just because two consenting adults neither of whom is with their current partner decided to have sex.

So as much as we feel for poor trembling Billy and his kids and the terrible unfounded rumors about his daughter, Gazza doesn't really deserve the cr@p that's been put on him and left him in a state of severe depression.

What Newman and Brayshaw have effectively done last night, was pave the way for Garry to receive enough sympathy from the public and smooth his return back to Channel 9 and in particular the Footy Show. What a great way to get him back.

Billy helped in this regard by stating that he'd be happy to sit down with his old mate Gazza and discuss the matter over a few beers.

Garry will come back, make some sort of statement that he won't really mean, the public will cop it sweet and feel for him lest he revisit that "dark place', and life will go on.

Once that happens, this whole saga should be consigned to the dustbin of history where it belongs.

I am not making light of that disease depression. I have seen it in my family and it is debilitating.

For me, having had a son work at the 9 network for many years, and going on his evaluation of Lyon's character which isn't great, the jury is out as to whether or not Garry is actually severely depressed, or has a mighty case of the shiiiiits at getting caught out and having his dirty laundry exposed in the public arena.

Garry is a very private man, and has successfully kept his private life private.Until now. He wouldn't be copping it too sweet.

@bookielover But the problem is married people do think the moral issue is important . As far as I'm aware Billy's ex wife still has his surname. Separation is just a **** term to sleep with other people. Unless they're divorced then you'd think their vows would actually mean something.

In a dark place. Sometimes it can be an excuse. This appears that time. Great ratings.

As I stated in the previous thread and I still 100% stick to it

Garry Lyon is a DOG and the worst kind of DOG.

Divorced, separated or even having a break. Your mate is your mate and you should have his back @ at all times, especially when he is struggling, like Bill was.             Some of the conversations those two lads would of had about her and what billy was feeling would have been deep. But Garry goes and runs one through her any way.  Nah I can't cop that.  He is a piece of ****.

And like I said before. He could pick and choose who he Fuucks in Melbourne. But he chose his mates misses even when there were kids involved.

Couldn't give a continental ...gave up on the footy show years ago....why give this "story" any oxygen....he says as he types a response....but seriously, just a soap opera about people who happened to be good at Football and others who seek to make commercial gain....The Footy Show is a commercial operation, simple as that, and it will milk this rubbish for all it can to boost ratings and further line John Newman's pocket.

Your an idiot bookielover, of course then is no law against a couple who are both divorced not getting together even if they are seperated yet all close friends... It's called having morals, you being from the old school I'm sure have them!
Out of all the women in the world today and he chooses to stick his d!ck in his best mates wife / ex wife is wrong and although legally allowed is definitely frowned upon.

I pride myself on my idiocy, Hash :D

I reckon if the two couples are open about it and inform each of their partners BEFORE they do anything that they fancy each other and want to get together, then, in my humble opinion, that's fair enough.

If they go behind their husband or wives backs, then to me that's morally, if not legally wrong.

I am, of course referring to couples who are divorced, or separated.

Is it the Footy Show or Bold and the Beautiful.. or Bald and the not so Beautiful? It is a non story and Newman with his history should be nowhere near that interview.

Bookie it is a pity so many cared about it. The matter should have been kept private and sorted out in that domain by the parties concerned. Unfortunately these days with social media it seems everybody wants to air everything and know everything.

Was horrible viewing on Thursday Billy should have had the sense to just have a statement read made a dill of himself they are separated and Lyon is divorced.
Would be a bitter pill to swallow but does happen what got me annoyed was they then swung onto Paul Couches passing and the young fella being hurt who cares about Billy and Gary wouldnt have bothered them if it was someone elses wife.

Billy was at a Sportsman Night I attended last night at the Swan Districts Football Club along with Kevin Sheedy and he is a top fella a real country lad old school type bloke which is why I reckon this whole saga has hit him pretty hard that along with the recent passing of his old mate Paul Couch.

I think its a crock of shite. They were divorced, before you get divorced you separate, and then sit it out for a while..She can jump any bone she wants, and its always better with someone you know.

Fair game in my opinion. Billy must be a big sook and Lyon - off on stress leave getting treated for depression......geez, can someone give the pair of them a glass of concrete???

    Pathetic

@Rio Billy may be a sook but his ego took a major hit. Let's face it, he was batting waaaaay above is average and whatever past football glories drew his ex to him they weren't enough to sustain a marriage. Not everyone who separates ends up getting divorced but if it really was quitsville for those two, why is she still known as Nicky Brownless?

agree trk, And that is why it is pathetic...His Ego got hurt, gee he is 50+ and is still caught up in his own self-importance????

As for Nikki B, some women refuse to let go, and ride on the coat tails of what the celebrity has given them...I got divorced about 16years ago and am still pi55ed I cant find a way to make the wench stop using my surname!!
