I see a photo of Willy Rioli with his late father Willy Rioli Snr but his mums name blew me away Georgina Vigona.
Now that is what I call football royalty.

I also see Micheal Walters mum is a Penny.
Think it was Danny Penny I played against in juniors who later went on to play for the black ducks.

That makes you around 50 Freo. Dan played for cloverdale or Redcliffe in junior. Played up at Basso and was looked at by Essendon but unfortunately did a injury to his knee . One very tough footballer was Daniel Penny

Freo i actually meant Dan played for Swans at Basso. Positive he played juniours at Cloverdale or Redcliffe . Tony Pepe big lad for his age Pep. There wre a few more ratbags there as well. But how dare you talk about the mighty Reders in those harsh tones lol . Who did you play for Freo i remember and my memory is getting sullied by age and Corona (the beer). Bassendean Cloverdale Belmont Midvale Swanview Ashfield possibly High wycombe as teams we played against. Pep  the Webster boys Colin the trainers Sons were all around his age. Think D.Penny actually went to Swans colts as soon as age allowed

SK yes Danny (Dipper) Penny was from Cloverdale (Belmont) and playing Colts at Swans from about 15/16. He first came to attention in the curtain raiser before one of those classic State Of Origin clashes in the 1980s as Best On Ground for Belmont SHS winning the old CIG Cup as it was known then, Tony Walley was another in that team. Do they still have the High Schools Footy Comp? As all you hear about from The West is the bloody private school stuff. Danny had a good career at Swans (1985-1992, 124 games, 43 goals) played a big part in our 1990 Premiership team but had some knee issues which shortened his WAFL career but boy he made his teammates grow a foot knowing he was on their side and a few opposition players were definitely aware he was in the vicinity. He was a fan favourite at Bassendean.

caught up with both of them a few weeks back VK. Your 100% correct about dipper as i said above very tough footballer and  a few opposition players would still have bruises from running into him at the height of his game i reckon. Just quiteltly handled himself pretty well off the fiels as well. Michael Kelly Colin Webster and Paul Ford are names you might remember from that Belmont college as its called now team. Who would have ever thought Belmont would have a college

Swan View, Basso and finished off juniors at Kongamia. To make it worse got belted by Basso in GF at Basso oval under 17s after leaving 2 years earlier.
La Salle College where i new Pepe and Will Daly from. Played against Danny Penny the year VK was talking about Belmont HS. Nobody could get near that team they had that year.

I go back a bit further than Spinking and Freodockers. I was involved in three consecutive Under 18s Premierships at Bassendean in 1963-64-65. The first two as a player and the last one as Secretary/Treasurer when I worked in the Bank and was playing colts at Swans.

Redcliffe and Belmont were our arch rivals in that era. Names such as Lou Milanko, Daryl Balchin, Terry Harris, Ron Burton and Geoff Kemp spring to mind.

That era lasted for another 20 odd years Chariots . Always knew it was going to be a tussle heading to Jubilee Reserve

So Wayne Carey reckons “Ross the Boss” should take on the Kangaroos gig. WTF
Obviously didn’t check the Dickers ladder positions in his last 4 years at the club.
Not sure RTB is good for their membership drive either. Who wants to turn up every week and watch their team score 8 or less goals per match. Maybe Digby Beacham ???
    =))

The Ascot Occasional, the Clovvy more occasionally, especially if they had a band on...Beatnix rings a bell, the Carlise for recovery Sunday sessions and my main spot was on the hill..Totally forgotten its name at the end of Belmont Ave, on Gt Eastern Highway!?!??!?!?! Getting old.. What was that place called??? Rarely walked out of there without a punch being thrown or a verbal being had!!!

We don`t produce those low scoring games by choice. It is because we are not good enough.
"Ross the Boss" devises his game plans around 8 goal games.
That is why your memberships were at an "all time league low" under his time at your club.

    I-) I-) I-) I-) I-)

Yet 99% of players that played for him say he’s a genius so fu$@ed if anybody knows.
Don’t forget Detto he developed the backline that Freo now have.

Suma called “Ross the Boss” a ***t and walked out.
Lachie Neale walked out and has blossomed since the RTB shackles were released.
Ed Langdon has gone to another level since leaving.
Word is that RTB only was interested in the top 10 players at all of the clubs he has been at and ignored the rest.
As for the recruiting “ let the cobblers do the cobbling” says RTB.
Genius ??? That is why he got the lemon and sars from Fremantle.
His 2009/2010 game plan doesn’t work in 2022.
But you can spruik how good RTB has been good for the Dickers, but unless you get silverware you got nothin.

I see Sumich has been inundated with coaching offers ever since.
I suppose Nick Reiwoldt, Nick Delsanto, Leigh Montagna, Nat Fyfe and David Mundy are all bad judges.

    Like I said…Top 10.
If Fyfe and Mundy backed him in why did he get the sack ?
Pav backs him in as well.
I suppose when you finish in the bottom 4 in your last 4 years of coaching then obviously your coaching methods are no good. Does Lachie Neale call him a genius coach ?? That’s right Neale was the poor relation to “Ross’s” boy “brand Fyfe”.

To my knowledge Neale left over that clown from Geelong (can’t remember his name). Ross was pissed off when Neale left over the said player, it was not an issue between Ross and Neale at all.

The coach you have now learnt his craft at West Coast along with the next Eagles senior coach Jamie Graham after Simmo takes the Kangaroos job.
Bring “Ross the Boss” back to the Dickers if you think he is that good. Not sure Peter Bell rates RTB. But what would Belly know ? Has he got any footy experience ??
