Changes to form on RACING WA site/CRIS

West Australian Racing
Just noticed some changes to the form on CRIS relating to the form on each horse when click on the name ? I don't use the form their a lot but seems a better "layout". Are there changes for the better for the punters on here ?

What annoys me most after using for a few weeks is that you usually read a page from top to bottom, nothing down bottom there to click onto the next race/page etc, have to back track to the top to do that . Please Fix

There are some improvements including providing each horse’s career runs straightaway instead of just the last 2 years’ runs.

Still could do with more info on the horse’s first page without having to go into each race eg turn and finish positions, last 600m, change of trainer.

There’s also now a column on the far left of the horse’s page numbering the entries which seems useless and just takes up space that could be used for something else.

Still prefer the visibility and info on racing.com as mentioned on another thread but at least they’re trying to improve it.

RWWA have obviously spent a lot of industry money upgrading the CRIS site.

After using it religiously for years it appears they have gone backwards. It is far too clunky with obvious parameters excluded or not available in areas where they should be.

Many trainers are also not happy with the revised site and understandably so.

RWWA. go back and fix up this matter source of information for the racing industry as a whole.

Not sure what you're specifically referring to JimmyPop. They do appear to have taken some suggestions on board so I'm hoping they continue to improve it.

You can now get a horse's entire history on one page, they've taken away the blue bands between each run which just filled the page without adding anything and they've added days between runs where there's been a let up. Just those three things make a horse's form a lot easier to read.

It would be good however if they could include 800/400 positions and last 600m times on the horse's page so that it's not necessary to go into each race to find that. And the page looks very busy and becomes harder to read/scan when you click on 'expand all' which you have to do if you want to see the weights carried and barriers.

For me Racing.com is still easier to read. It has more info on the one page (weight, barrier, 800/400, SP, freshens of 3 weeks or more, change of trainer) without needing to expand or click for more and race comments are also available for metro races by holding the cursor over the bubble. Despite having all that extra information on the one page, it's still easier to read than CRIS, particularly if you 'expand all' on CRIS to see some of the extra information.

I would like to see the winner of the race in the horses history, or who ran 2nd if it won, as that usually jogs my memory of the particular race. At present have to click on everyone to find the right one

Your info pertaining to weight and barrier is my main gripe. Why is the Race number included in the latest performances, it is superfluous in comparison to weight and barrier.
    Surely they consulted with industry.
I agree with Racing.com, far easier. They had a great opportunity but have failed in delivering an up to date, easy to navigate site.

My understanding is this is far from the finished product.

Going to become a one stop shop for all 3 codes eventually.

So hopefully they can end up with a quality simple format with all relevant information easy to access.

The CRIS site is the best resource in the country and always has been. Replays & trials there for all to see, and still the only state that provides csv's to download. Very convenient for a punter that wants to do his own ratings. I'm not a WA resident, but its the only state I punt on now.

Can the people at RWWA please put the weight and barrier in for each horse statistics.
This is vital. Are they that stupid.

Not sure how long the new format has been going now... but STILL.. after all this time, the CRIS Form link (button) on Tabtouch.... goes nowhere.

    Its laughable...

They have had recommendations about what to fix but still do nothing. They are just dormant idiots.
TheDiva made mention of the CRIS link on June 27 after the problem has existed since the initial changes made. What is the problem. Do they need some IT skills in there at RWWA.
    Fix the problems.

This is typical of utilising consultants to design the product where nobody that hires the consultants actually use the product. Or care about it.

As soon as they said they were going to change the original cris site, you could have guaranteed it would be times worse.
