Noske was great again. Went for an inside run on Timeous and succeded, then he either does speed maps or just tried his luck pushing Key Biscuit forward outside leader, because it got there without much effort and bounded clear.

    Sentenza . . . . . spare me.

A 66 rater in a listed race. WTF.

Its rating will go through the roof....not well placed imho. He could have won through 0-79 0-86 etc before open company and won heaps of $$$$.
Did win us heaps of $$$$$ :D

P.Harvey's ride on Capuchin was an absolute discrace !!
Did he give the horse every possible chance to obtain the best possible finishing position? i don't think so
I can see that the horse jumped arkwardly but unless there is some sort of injury reported P.Harvey must be dragged before stewards. You cannot have the 2-1 favorite tailled rounding the home with the jockey showing vey little concern until straightening.
A ride that leaves many questions unanswered.

Placement only matters if you're trying to maximise prizemoney won. Racing well above your class is great if you want to punt and get a better price.

Thats absolute CRAP GOM have you not heard of at least trying to improve your position mid race was sitting on it like he was watching the Sunday movie -IMO

    GOM

Dung is correct he didn't move or show any concern until after straightening. Harvey has a case to answer unless the horse was lame.

Horse was trained to the minute for the Northam Cup just didnt run on yesterday. Capuchin has always been hard to catch for mine, Dante's Dash was a bigger disappointment to me after it's last start win in town.

Tete the stable thought Capachin was a CERT hence the stable inspired support ,Dantes Dash wasnt a bad run but im thinking is it any chance for the Perth Cup ?? it was of the scene for a while i think injury enforced so looks to me if its returning to fitness and form but Cup probably a bit wide of the mark .

This was discussed recently on another thread regarding Dark TARGET - Capuchin was always a risk of being able to back up that good a run. Going for a spell now it seems.
  • I have to disagree with people defending harvey over that ride far out there was no need to be that far back off the speed he gave it no chance at all if u look at the last 600m its one of the best in the race.So in my ideas on race he did not want to win or gave it no chance at all.As for horse being over the top after northam cup give me a brake he won with the hand brake on the last 100m and his sectional that day clearly stated he was on a upward trend still and was holding his peak.S o i am sorry unless horse has pulled up lame he has a question to answer and i have to be honest u have to question whats going on in this blokes head at moment.H e is burning alot of people.

The runs of Dante's Dash and Capuchin were very good in my opinion, especially Dante's. Capuchin is always a query at Ascot because of his legs and the hard track, along with many others in that race that have a very poor Ascot record and ran accordingly. Dante's will get my money next start over ground along with another stayer in that race when it starts in its own grade over ground. Their sectionals were good, they were just in the wrong race. As for blaming Paul for Capuchin's defeat, watch the start and how the horse was streching out - looked rough in its action to me. Another horse that I was happy to stay off after watching its prelim was Kanturk. It was short in its action and raced accordingly.

Wake up to yourself not much Harvey could have done he missed the kick and once they clapped the speed on he was off the bit and only got going late.

These things happen in racing if u don't like it don't bet.

I was the master of doom when Paul Harvey was riding badly, mainly when getting caught on th rail. As I am not a horseman though I won't debate tactics in this race. The jock has been doing much better recently and as the horse made a bad start yesterday IMHO, I think P. Harvey wanted to get him to settle. The horse did not do much good, but that is Racing and Punting. I for one do not bet money I can't afford to lose. Rounded out it is gambling and is not all skill, sometimes luck plays a big part. SUCH AS A HORSE JUMPING fast and clean.

I know the horse jumped arkward but P.Harvey show know concern or vigor in thying to get his mount to tack on to the field. P.Harvey can't be that bad a judge that he didn't realise the pace was slow early and thus being tailled off 3-4 lengths. The only possible excuse is if the horse is lame other wise he has to be asked serious questions as to why he was tailled off so far with a slow early speed and remained in a similar position until the horse entered the home straight. P.Harvey showed no vigor in the early and middle stages of the race and at best if the horse is not lame it is a very very misjudged ride.

According to the stewards report capuchin copped interference at the start and lost ground. can't blame harves for that.

I think people could wonder the same thing about APACHE CAT yesterday. From what I saw he jumped clean etc. I had no money bet on the Cat but was shocked and upset as he is a great horse. But as Fred Kersley said. " Horses have their good and sometimes bad days." ) or words to that affect. ( If we WON our bets everytime IMHO, we would go stale interest wise.) Horses can go stale now and again and I find that part of the MYSTERY of Racing. Others may differ in their opinions.

God I hate that attitude. So because elephant juice, milkshaking, jiggers etc etc happen from time to time in racing we should tolerate it. Pathetic. :!:
