Are you saying you cant do trebles, quad's etc or that you cant do doubles? I know you can do doubles.

I have SYT in the Cox doubled up with 4 horses in the MC - put on using Multi tix
  • I think the issue I had was trying with 3 legs, cox plate into caulfield cup multi went on with no worries at all.
I've backed the winner of the metrop on saturday for the caulfield cup @ 51's into SYT for the cox. The 51's on offer now wont last after this weekend..

Ok i've finally figured out you can only multi up horses in the 'future all in' markets and are only allowed two per ticket.
For example the Caulfield Guineas race this saturday, the final field and barrier draw is out so thats no longer a future market therefore your unable to take a runner in that market into a Cox Plate/Melb Cup runner

and just as I posted this and tried to take a multi for Saturday in Guineas into The Yalumba...
Yet the market has just been suspended! :(

and now back open... they must have taken a sizeable bet
  • generally suspend to update a scratching
  • I did notice Anacheeva's price got turned out 6.50 to 7.00 in the space of a couple minutes, pretty sure they took a bet on something else and it firmed hence why the market was suspended..
  • i am thinking of opening a sportsbook just to take your bets hash

really you should give up on taking the unders on these long range guesses

I work in a tab and see blokes put on multi's day after day - very rarely does anyone ever collect
  • long range?? The Caulfield Guineas is only two sleeps away......

As for the doubles, i've anchored everything into SYT for the Cox plate, so if I see something I like this weekend i'll multi that up into SYT so instead of punting and collecting after the race on saturday im getting an extra 2.50 multiplied into the price i lock in about saturdays runner/winner
  • and the reason im backing Anacheeva and 3 other runners in the race prepost for the guineas is because I already have 2 multis that are so far succesful, relying on either Toorak Toff or Ilovethiscity to win on saturday. so to cover my bets i've backed 4 others in the field I think are the only dangers to the 2 favs
  • yep 2 days is long range for me

a cyclone could come into Melbourne in that time

anything could happen to SYT before the Cox Plate - may start odds-on so you are getting an extra 50-80 cents - whoppie do

much rather get odds like $9 Impressive Jeuney when it starts at $3.50 - plenty of options out there - dont need to be guessing long range
  • TheFunksterTheFunkster    3,840 posts
Should've put your multis on prior to its last start Hash when $3.80 was available....
Della's right, hardly worth the risk at $2.50
  • have said this before

my 3 rules to ALL-IN betting

    1. Price must be atleast double what I think will be on the day
    2. Horse must be guaranteed of running (barring innjury etc) in the race. Dont bother guessing that the trainer might go that way. If it isnt qualified much easier to back it in lead up races first.
    3. Horse can handle any surface. No good backing a horse that cant handle a wet track and it pisses down on the day.

PS - I probably only have 1 or 2 bets each year, sometimes none

thats where the value is my friend, find lead up races or races that make a horse exempt from ballott into the big races and back it prepost on that day/week of the lead up race and get alot more than double what it will be on the day....
of course the horse has to win though but thats the punt I take!

for example Herculian Prince, I took the 15/1 when it won that G3 at Rosehill (the week BEFORE it flopped at Randwick when it choked on its tongue)
then the following week it went around a 5/1 fav in the Metrop (a traditional lead up race for the Caulfield Cup) now anyone that was very keen to back HP in the metrop that day would of had rocks in their head NOT to have something on HP to win the Ccup @ 50/1 who is now the second favourite for next saturday.
that situation there my friend is the positive reason why I bet prepost in ALL IN markets

rather back a winner at $6

who was the last metro winner to take the caulfield cup?

do you remember all the pre-post punters who whinged when Maldivian hits its head on the camera mounting in the Caulfield Cup - thats right they got shafted bigtime
  • I was on it that day in the Caulfield cup when delta blues or pop rock and Aqua D'more filled the placings, I was in QLD on holiday sitting in a pub by myself and got a piece of the tri (before flexi betting was available) one of my biggest wins I wont forget.

Tawqeet then went on to start a raging fav in the melb cup (only to flop)

Railings is another metrop winner but he never went onto win a CCup but was very competitive for memory....
  • Herculian Prince is now $7.50 may yet get better

    so $6 x $7.50 = $45

welldone on taking $50 = you got 10% extra but if it flopped in the metro would be gone

havent the rules changed now to refunds and deductions after final acceptances

yes but if you have backed it before that you are still stuffed

thats the issue I been having backing a horse to say win a saturday race into that same runner to win a future race in an all in market as well as that the tab have some deduction rule when multiying up the same runner for 2 feature races....
Im 99% sure you can do it...?? try it and let me know, SYT yalumba in SYT cox plate (future market) give it a whirl bet that dont allow it, so your $6 x $7.50 theory doesnt make sense
  • Can they explain this one at all?
Its basically false advertising and worst of all unlike when betting on the tote with them you cant navigate your page back to the bet confirm screen and cancel it.
I've gone to place several bets on a couple of roughies some each way and some just for the place and before I confirm and click YES on these bets and a message alerting me the following appears.

Please check your bet details carefully below as once you have confirmed your bets, you are unable to cancel - no cancellations are accepted.
Please be aware that the "$Return" may change slightly if the bookmakers change their returns whilst the bet is in progress.
Bet confirmation only: To place your bet(s) click yes

The $1 return for - Chasm has changed to $4.00. Please review and reconfirm the amended value.
NOTE: The pricing/odds have changed since the bet details were entered. Please review and reconfirm the amended values.
The $1 return for - No Jurisdiction has changed to $16.00. Please review and reconfirm the amended value.
The $1 return for - Kidnapped has changed to $13.50. Please review and reconfirm the amended value.

Which is fine by me, they are quoting that the odds have mysteriously changed in the space of the time i've placed my bet so they are offering me different odds than the time i've gone to SEND these bets.
Yet once i've clicked YES to confirm these bets, they then place them at a different price than what they previously quoted me at, when alerting me the odds have changed.

SPORTS BET 1$ RETURN BET AMOUNT PAY RECEIPT
    4604 Chasm (W) $13.00 $5.00 $65.00 3B523ADC
    4604 Chasm (P) $3.50 $5.00 $17.50 3B523ADC
    27039 No Jurisdiction (P) $13.00 $5.00 $65.00 3B523ADD
    55846 Kidnapped (P) $11.00 $5.00 $55.00 3B523ADE

Notice Chasm's original place divi "changed to $4" then in the space of the time it took to confirm my bets it dropped to $3.50
and also NJ's place divi "changed to $16" then dropped to $13
and Kidnapped's place divi "changed to $13.50" yet also dropped to $11

This is fine by me but the fact they are quoting different prices and letting you on for a totally different quote is a joke and the fact you cant go back to cancel these bets makes it look as though it is a trap for punters.
    PLEASE EXPLAIN
