    Agree Della. It is a joke and another blow to racings credibilty--- as a punter though you just have to back his horses whenever you can until he finally gets put out.

    I can't believe Altieri actually jumped off it after the gates opened :shock:
    I think she was about to grab the upright and was surprised the gates opened and she just jumped off :shock: :shock: :shock:

    I've seen plenty come out of the gates without their feet in the irons but I've never seen anyone jump off like that.

    I've seen plenty come out of the gates without their feet in the irons but I've never seen anyone jump off like that.
    Ive seen it quite a few times - jocks just grab hold of gates rather than take off with the horse

    Stewards report

    Correct weight was delayed several minutes to allow Stewards to view the head on patrol video and
    interview Starters T. Plane and T. Bell and Apprentice S. Altieri in relation to OSH EMPIRE
    commencing riderless. It was ascertained that OSH EMPIRE after being loaded into the barriers
    became fractious and got its head down prior to the start with Apprentice Altieri losing her near side
    rein. A barrier attendant then attempted to settle OSH EMPIRE with Apprentice Altieri still not having
    her near side rein and as the barriers opened Apprentice Altieri was unbalanced and slid to the
    gelding?s off side onto the barrier partition causing OSH EMPIRE to commence riderless. In all of the
    circumstances and acting under the provisions of ARR.134A, Stewards declared OSH EMPIRE ($19) a
    non-starter. All bets made on the gelding were refunded. Deductions from winning bets were made in
    accordance with RWWA Rule of Wagering 56. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no
    abnormalities.
