Number 1 is Idyllic Prince so he has tipped it to come second.

having it first in your tri and also in the quaddie looks like tipping it to win to me

must be an error because Wes has said he doesnt think it can win now
Ive tipped Idyllic Prince 1st All Friared Up 2nd Buccelatti 3rd Playing God 4th

I have put Buccelatti in the quad but that doesn't indicate that I'm tipping him to win.

When I play quaddies I am happy to have roughies in the mix. It doesn't mean I have tipped them to win. Maybe I am hoping they will win for a better result in the quaddie.

I always believe that the one horse you tip on top is the one that you have tipped to win and I don't get any comfort from having tipped a horse to run second and it wins.

BC, I rely on value in my punting so at times I may have some strange horses in the mix, it doesn't mean that I tip them to win moreso hoping.

End of story. No further correspondence required.
  • nothing wrong with tipping more than one horse in a race

but putting a horse in the tri and quaddie to win and then saying it cant win is a bit strange and obviously contradictory

hope it runs a good race today

overdone fish eggs doesnt matter how the punk tips them as long as he MAKES the punters club some money

Good luck to all the Fillies & Mares in the My Atacanta Stallion Hcp today at Belmont Park. Please remember that any winning filly or mare today will receive a free serve to My Atacanta to be used this season or next year.

We have already given away almost $50,000 in serves this year, over five race meetings in WA, this in support of Breeders in trying times. With his first foal on the ground this past week, exciting times are ahead for everyone involved in this magnificent stallion.

Good luck to all runners today. And yes I will be there with my camera out in the carpark, trying to capture some of the spirit of the day from outside the fenceline.

Big fan of tipping something at value odds. Anyone can go out and tip the fav in each race. If you're doing a quaddie you need that value too otherwise the divi is always too small.
    Good luck today everyone!

2 of the most magnificent posting ever recorded.
And oh so justified to a grumpy, whingeing, whining, never happy, sooky lala.

The reason i havent been posting (and a few others) is because of the negative crap that this tool(good one Jordan) goes on about.

    Never happy!!
And theres more integrity in Wes's big toe then you have mate!

dont really give a stuff if everyone thinks Im a TOOL, DICKHEAD or whatever

PS - Wes is great for racing but if he cant see why this is a problem then he has lost me

BC, I don't know what has got you upset or so wracked in anger but you are missing an important point.

Yes I tipped Buccelatti to run 3rd, not to win, and in Racing Edge I did have him in the quaddie leg.

I feel the Goodwood is a race in two - Idyllic Prince and All Friared Up and quite possibly I am wrong but I am not prepared to leave out a horse (Buccelatti) who I know has shown plenty of ability in the past, moreso, in the Northern Hemisphere.

I don't think I have deceived anyone in this regard.

I stated on radio this morning that he could run a cheeky race as he does have a bit of class. Lets face it he did run in a Melbourne Cup and has won nearly $1m in stakes. Sure he finished with the tailenders in the Cup as he may well do today but that is the beauty of punting. It is a risk oriented sport and sometimes it doesn't hurt to go outside the square.

I really cannot understand what I have done wrong as there is no deception with what I have done and to state that there should be serious consequences is ridiculuos.

And at $71 why wouldn't he be included on speck just in case he does run a race. I have a very healthy respect for Justin Warwick as a trainer.

I have won many quaddies in the past with horses that I didn't think could win. That is not saying they can't win.

A few weeks ago I had Capital Account in the last leg of the quaddie at Northam. In all honesty I thought he would struggle but I have certain rules that must be obeyed and inexplicably he got up and won. The quaddie paid in excess of $11k. I was quite happy to be wrong.

BC, we all have different methods and styles of punting.

I don't consider myself a great punter nor do I consider myself a great tipster but I do my best and that is all the good Lord requires.
  • why do you think I am angry?

I am just disappointed you would suggest people take a horse to win and then say I dont think it can win - quite clearly the opposite

If you rang your stockbroker/financial adviser or the the like and he told you to do something contrary to his personal opinion would you not have issue with it?

maybe you should have said - I think its chances of winning are small but at the price its good value to be putting into win in tri's and quaddies

that would seem to be a lot more accurate or do you just want to be seen to be correct regardless of the result?

I wonder if any tipsters would have tipped horses to run 3rd or 4th in the 1st race at Moonee Valley today? The betting and form suggested only 2 chances....which was how they finished. But you have to tip something for the other 2 placings. I have heard plenty of tipsters change their tips come race time. I have done it myself. If I give someone a tip on something I have priced $3 and it goes around $2 will I be backing it??? No!!! I will probably be backing the thing I had $4.40 that is going around $7. I have thrown in plenty of horses in quads/exotics on spec that they may be ready. Nothing wrong with what u have done SP.

  • so correct me If Im wrong here

taking horses to win that you dont think can win - is a good strategy?

maybe Wes can announce all the horses he doesnt think can win so we can get on

seriously its completely got me baffled now
  • "I feel the Goodwood is a race in two - Idyllic Prince and All Friared Up and quite possibly I am wrong but I am not prepared to leave out a horse"

to me that makes perfect sense, or am I wrong again :?

I would think more along the lines that a horse that you don't think can win, could win, while a horse you think can't win, won't win!

To ask Wes to announce the horses he doesn't think can win so u can get on is ridiculous. I will put this to you. A horse resuming which you think probably cant win would not go in your quaddie...despite you having it priced $13 and 4-5 horses priced in front of it yet the market is betting $51??? On value spec surely you would have it in!
