I think it is just like humans, have been plenty to drop dead of heart problems in their prime.

Jockey Frank Hayes was 35 years old and riding a 20-1 horse named Sweet Kiss when he died right in the middle of a horse race at Belmont Park in New York. This probably wouldn’t be such a big deal if not for the fact that Sweet Kiss went on to win the race with the dead jockey on his back.

As far as anyone knows, this is the only time a jockey won a race while dead. In fact, I’d wager that this is the only time any athlete ever won anything while dead.

So it just happens IMO, nothing but a freak thing that has on this occasion.

    Pathetic. And welcome back Lucas.

    Seemingly, roughies are just disposable.

Handicapper got it right, 3/4len between top and bottom weight. Strange tactics indeed, quaddie dead. I had TS a place chance, but couldn't have them all.

he may think he has been justified, but i don't think he has.

the handicapper didn't win the race for it, it was lucas, cassidy and an in form noske that were responsible for the result.

Irony hey ,Bob Peters sold the winner to Ballytine {i think docker players are in the ownership as well as the bloke from the Gate pub ] well done to them and if Chester didnt get scr TS wouldnt have got a run in turn beats the stablemate MM racings a funny game

I would suggest some posters on here have a good long read of the stewards report (or have someone read it to you).
  • careycarey    6,424 posts

the most telling thing for me is what's NOT in the report.

Sorry squid, but I see nothing to explain the death - lot of questions to be asked. And only a full autopsy will give answers.

I will leave it at that....

    Could be purely bad luck.......

This is the only stewards report that was interesting in hindsight
"Stewards granted permission for Jockey J. Noske to ride TALENT SHOW at 54.0kg being 1.0kg over
    the allotted weight."
