Celtic Courage takes the lead from Fort Courage. A bit of general confusion there Richie.

    SUMMAH'S TOUCH
Daz Mac calls it Summer's Touch and Richard Bell calls it Summa's Touch as in Peter Sumich.
I have always thought it is the latter therefore agree with The Bellboy
    Can anyone clarify for certain?

thought a 1.30 pop would have been able to do that

Seems it's just me and you who can watch a race. It went around them with little effort on a straight run when the leader was under a choker hold. On the scale the ride wasn't even 'bad' .... let alone 'dead set carve up'

Probably because your both in love with the Pontiff
I would love to read your post DS if Wiz had ridden it like that ouch !!! :)

Huge rap for Dan Morton and Wolfey for that matter but both were talking heading East with Tiger Pete and Born to Excel which was nomd for the Aust Cup WTF ive got bad news gents they couldnt win over there if they left now TP was a shocker of a run Born to Excel was better but if you cant beat Roman Knows at Ascot you have none of winning East .

PB your having a lend of us surely.....the point where he was 2nd last, and continued to move his hands up and down on the horses neck until he reached outside the lead....after the horse had landed on his head...barley had time to find his feet and the pontiff was off like he stole it....self confessed bad ride, so you have zero leg to stand on old boy...YOU ARE WRONG....which is fine mate we all get it wrong occasionally!

You are correct Mr Motivated, Simon said in the interview the Pont put his hand up and said it was a bad ride an fair play to PH for saying that

The only other thing I thought it could be was in the horse's breeding but it is from the owner's family then Fastmoney. Thanks for the clarification. Credit then to Daz Mac who is on the ball with this one.

even though he rode it ordinary, I still think it was dissapointing, if something starts at a 1.20 I expect it to win by 3 in a canter, it's obviously not as good as I thought it was, I think the HK offer during the week maybe should have been taken

I thought it got around them without much effort

also I don't bag Ponty ( it's not allowed), I like to look for the good in people

if there is any good in ponty, he should re consider riding in these hot race meetings.
they did the right thing with full steam ahead, but ponty is a slow learner. dehydrated again..not good enough!

The run of Portonian was admirable I thought. I agree with Piston that horses that short in the market should be good enough to still win if they miss the start for example. This is different to what Portonian endured IMO.
Watching the replay he knuckled severely at the start, then get side swiped, continued to be terrorised for a distance then get hunted up to be close to the leaders. The Stewards report had him as pulling up lame after the race, no doubt as a result of knuckling at the start. Surely that injury would have affected him in the run.
As for the ride apparently Harvey volunteered it was poor. Its a tough job being a jockey no doubt however when horses miss the start and/or suffer serious interference or knuckling out of the barriers I prefer them to let the horse relax for as long as possible, let them get their breath back, get into a rhythm and ride for luck. Having said that though, I've never ridden a horse in my life so I could be completely wrong. Hopefully the horse is ok for the owners and can come back after a good spell when he is over his injuries.

very sensible comments, sensei. don't forget the horse is only a baby...3rd start and would have been completely in awe of knuckling and getting side swiped.
ok, paul erred and he put his hand up...end of story.
