true, diva but a few months over there to hone some skills in "real" racing against the best in oz would do no harm.

only possible negative ( and it may not be attributed to chris)...ive noticed a fair portion of his mounts are slow to jump or miss the kick.

He sits on OK but he is going to get more chances than most as Nifty has 3000000 in work

i am pretty sure he is or turns 16 this year..he rode for us told us..so that is just from memory

    thanks rio.

he is tiny, when his body matures a bit he will be stronger obviously.

yep, pretty well the only short coming he has(maybe make that are he can improve in) at the moment..He appears a natural light weight, so if he can get a bit of muscle into his upper body without increasing his weight, he'll be around for a long time.

Doesn't appear to be hindering him too much at the moment though

Terrific ride on Express Service on Saturday and a double today. 10 E/w on each of his rides today returned $296 for a $160 outlay. Not very scientific but its a result.

He's not fit to be Chad Schofield's valet. Now there's an  apprentice worthy of his own thread. He's putting David Hayes back on the map!

you are kidding, Schofield is out more than he is in, if he is that good why does he get suspended all the time?

Competitive riders are often suspended. As a punter at least you know they are having a fair go-I'd rather back a hoop with a few outs than one with a squeaky clean record.....unless of course they are out for not trying.

As for Schofield he is alreading doing what Chris Parnham is yet to do-making an impact in melbourne(he started here in sydney)and he has outridden his claim.

Agree about having a go. But this kid just does not care about the safety of fellow riders. If he keeps going the way he is he will get a long lagging. Its not as if he is riding in Perth.

for quite a while, chris had a habit of riding with the whip basically the same way each ride...he would rarely hit a horse more than twice before putting both hands back on the reins, go a few more strides, two hits, hands back on reins etc etc.

it may well have been to keep the horse balanced (he wasnt losing their head or anything) but...perception is pretty big with owners. they want to see more than that.

alas...this week, ive watched him cut a few in half!! so i dunno..whether someone got in his ear and told him to ride harder for longer with the stick...but he can do it if he wants. he drove one up the inside the other day and caned it to win.

skys the limit if he keeps his head screwed on.
