Jordan is just doing a bit of research for you rooboy...

Bar plates are becoming more of a common occurence, if they werent sound they wouldnt be racing.

Robs777,don't tell raconteur that, as he has a mind set on any one who want's to help us punter's. A very good website to go to is justracing.com.au . A guy called Phil Purser owns this website and has 40 years of Knowledge that is very interesting reading. He calls a spade a spade, and knocks horses that are favs or in the market, because of different issues, like, bar plates, 21 days between runs, gutbusters( i wonder if that happened to Pinici,AC) or cant run a last 600 sectional. His article on the 2nd/7/2013 was very interesting.

..what are you ??? I asked 3 times for you to explain your theory re Bar Shoes to us and even gave you a choice : GOOD or BAD - you wouldn't declare - so come on , we all know what bar plates are but what is your theory - its your thread, Ted'

Geez Rac, with all your knowledge of racing that i have seen you post on other threads i would of thought by now it would of clicked. Here it is mate, DON'T BACK HORSE'S WITH BAR PLATES! BAD,BAD,BAD.After 36 posts you would think by my posts and other posts you would get it!Maybe Rac, you should read my post on the 4th/7,and have a read of that website.Who knows you might just learn a bit more about racing in general.

There are plenty of horses with normal shoes on every meeting that don't win a race, so a bit hard to simply rule them out just because of bar shoes based on low level stats.

What about percentage of bar shoe wearers that win (i.e. number of winners / number of bar shoe starters), compared with % of normal shoes that win (number of winners / number of normal shoe starters .....this figure will be somewhere between 6% and 12%).

Hey  Roo - if you wrote your posts properly - we could understand them - just say it don't try to be clever  or cryptic.

PS had a look at your mate's website - not exactly 'cutting edge ' is it ?-

eg Quote"Barrier Blanket – a recent addition in Australian racing ..." - they have been used in WA since early 90s and I notice WA racing doesn't even get a mention on the site

or this ...."A trainer can’t just turn up to race his horse, pacer or greyhound and decide he or she will shove a set of blinkers on it.  "  -  greyhounds with blinkers ????? that's cuttin edge !

if you really want to promote the puerile site - why not use the hyperlink button Diva so kindly gave us recently.

    hey Roo' ,

picking the eyes out of something implies that it had  eyes in the first place - not much meat on the bones there. Ted

PS I added your mate's hyperlink just so that other posters can have a look themselves - just click to wisdom!

Just maybe Rac, they might read more than your 2 minutes. My mate, as you say, has over 40 yrs of racing under his belt and was only put there for other posters that did not want to see your rubbish printed on this thread. Have a look at every other posts on this thread, they all got it apart from 1, you! Thanks for putting up that hyperlink for your fellow posters!

I got it all along - just that if you are going to contribute by starting a new thread - do it clearly. Have a look at your initial post - that is mumbo jumbo the way you try to say it.image

I see Right Time has had Bar shoes added to both fronts for the Beaufine Stakes tomorrow. Make of that whatever you choose too :-?

Just doing the form Raff, and noticed it. Its last run was not very good, had its longest prep (7 starts),drawn wide and i would not be surprised if it is scratched.

Unusual to find myself agreeing with Racontuer but the just racing fella seems a nutter and the website is full of rubbish. Seems fascinated with making huge long list of horses that dont win first up or who havent won for 12 months.
  • rooboyrooboy    1,444 posts
So you don't think that over the past 6 months in Bris, Syd and Melb that 1034 horses that have run(without a win in the last 52 weeks) only 54 horses have won. That is 5.22% that have won and nearly 95% that have lost!Mate, i know its not for everyone, but he puts in a fair bit of research in which i find interesting!

It is meaningless without the prices of the horses concerned . Even if there is some small interest this is cancelled out by the mindlessly long listing of all 1034 horses - you did a much better job in your 3 sentences than just racing did in many articles. If he is saying that horses that have not won for a long time are bad betting propositions then I would probably agree, but for sure there would be some big priced winners in the list.
  • rooboyrooboy    1,444 posts
Your right Jonesee, there were some good priced winners and the starting price is next to the trainer! Like i said before, the research is for free and he does maybe go a bit in depth!

bar shoes were a late inclusion to the gear.
I dont know about DMAC, but Hoops has to finish his form by Thursday for his Friday morning show.
I know he was not happy to learn that Right Time had bar shoes added.
