With the Burgess Queen and the Champion fillies stakes coming up in November, I am curious to know what fillies maybe heading down that path, There are some nice fillies that can sprint ie Camporella and Vampi lass etc but from what I have seen thee are not too many that will get the trip. Interested in your thoughts.

ISOLA BLUE from the Morton camp,O'HARA DE BELLE from the riordan camp.VIA LAURENTINA andPRINCESS HALLOWELL from the parnham and Andrews camps, BUSIMISS from the kersley stables,no doubt that the. Williams,Miller and Durant stables will also have representatives.

Camporella should be considered with her inherent stud value, too valuable to be running around in ordinary races without winning. This time next year I think she should have been retired. I respect Dan Morton's ability but Camporella could simply be a repeat of a mare like Time To Climb. A precocious 2YO that simply didn't come back at 3YO and had just too much value not to be a Mum at the earliest opportunity.  I hope I'm wrong but at this moment she seems to be not the dominant filly that she once was.

Thanks for your thoughts. It is very interesting though all the above fillies mentioned have only won over 1000m except Via Laurentina who has won over 1200m. I know that most have not had the opportunity to race over any further distances but  apart from Princess Hallowell and Via Laurentina I believe that a few of the others wont run the distance. If the Durrants, Miller or Williams stables have any 3yo fillies they have not shown up yet? Might not be too many around this year?

Haha you consider Vampi Lass a good sprinter? Yeah probably the best sprinter yet to win a race!
Camporella seems to be one of those very good 2 year olds who have not come back as 3 year olds.

Thanks for the feedback Chelsea. Does not appear to be that many around and that's assuming the horses you mentioned are even in work? Not many 3 yo of quality this year that can run 1400-1600m ?

So given your discussing 3 yr old fillies I'd be interested in people's comments on how this years 3 year old fillies rate with last year. Is it a better crop this year than last year?..

I noticed Grant Williams has a horse called Dreamalong which has bee nominated to race at Belmont on Saturday, from all reports it won very well the other day and should be winning the race. Star of Husson is another one in the same race. Small field but could be an interesting race?
