Was just reading an article saying that a former top jockey was carted of out of an establishment on Cup night they wouldnt say his name as he is going through some very tough times ,Nikolic or Eades ??

Speaking of Nikolic i see his brother John had a runner at the Coast on Saturday and it was backed from 26s into 5s and missed the kick think it ran 4th in the end   karma bus ran him over again

:))

The karma bus coming for that mob is much larger than a failed plunge.

Beating The Odds(the Alan Tripp story) is a much better read. I bet Bookielover has a signed copy!

FINE COTTON and ME by Hayden Haitana is worth the read if you can get it - might be a re print now that the lowlife is back.

Falcon I read Fixed a short while ago and also recommended it on here. A very interesting book.

Not racing related but a very good non fiction read and recently topical is Mortal Error - The Shot That Killed JFK

Very interesting topic. I read this about the book Mortal Error:

Chapter 7, Kennedy's Unknown Wound, describes Donahue's conclusion that Kennedy suffered a scalp wound from a ricochet fragment from Oswald's first shot, using the material provided by Fisher. This resolves some problems with the timing of the reactions of Kennedy and Connally.

I watched a doco about a month ago which basically agreed with the ricochet theory. There was a bloke standing well past Kennedy's limo that copped some shrapnel. Turns out, when he took his first shot, there was a street sign right in his way, which the bullet hit and ricocheted. Obviously some of it hit kennedy and some of it sprayed further down, hitting a bystander. Im going to go off and read this book now!

The facts suggest he was shot accidentally by one of the security men (Hickey) in the vehicle following Kennedy's car which explains second shooter.
