Is there anything wrong with the Belmont Track?

We were at the track last Wednesday and noticed half way through the meeting that the horses were entering the track through a gate new the yard between the stables and the parade ring.

I see the trials are being moved next week. It appeared that there were a few people having a close look at the track near the finish line.

Has anyone read anything official about it?

It didn't happen last Wednesday Rio, but we have been leading the horses out that gate from the Mounting yard on a couple of previous Mid Week meetings.

It's the same gate that the non place getters go through after the race.

I'm pretty sure they are just trying to conserve some of the track for Saturday meetings.

That's all I know about it though ;)

Cheers, not looking to 5hit stir, just wondered if it had been announced somewhere.

I heard a rumor why the turf club always have the rail way out and only racing on half a track during the week.
Mr Ted van Heemst is expecting a phone call from Pope Francis who is looking to visit Western Australia later in the year. He wants the track looking at it's best on the inside grass for his visit.

Looks like the track will get some decent amount of rain tomorrow and Wednesday with storms forecast so hopefully everything is ok and the racing is not affected. :)

    Tomorrow's Perth forecast:
"Cloudy. Scattered showers developing the morning, becoming more widespread with possible heavy falls late morning or early afternoon, easing to isolated showers in the late afternoon. Scattered thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon. Destructive winds possible in the morning and afternoon. Winds north to northeasterly 20 to 30 km/h turning northwesterly 25 to 35 km/h in the early afternoon then increasing to 25 to 40 km/h in the late evening."

There may be something wrong with the track on Wednesday..............

The twitter Penguin is far from impressed with you moving in on his territory.

good test for the track today...even though they have been keeping the horses off the last 100m, AND there is nothing officially wrong with the track AND the trials were moved to lark Hill for no special reason AND i saw several jockeys walk that area last Wednesday mid meeting, before they took all horses off that section of the track except for the race proper......

I hope we get through a full race card today.. I'll be looking for some McFlirts at long prices today!!!
