If Zester can win carrying 65 kilos and jumping from the outside barrier, then it will be a well deserved victory for sure.
The last horse I can recall who won in Kalgoorlie carrying a similar weight (64 kilos from memory) was Regal Raider for Paul Smythe. S.J Miller rode the horse that day I believe ;)

Nice quin n exacta but thanks mate
And the horse who beat him has been runner up in his past 3 runs at Kalgoorlie so Ahke certainly had his hoof on the till for sure.
It's great to see Lucy W continuing on with her purple patch of form & making the most of her opportunities too =D>
Speaking of purple patches, Goldbro from the Paul Smythe stable is going through his classes with relative ease it would appear.
I think the answer is probably yes, but i'll put it out there anyway. Is it asking too much of the horse to be competitive in the Coolgardie Cup? I only ask this because the horse has been winning over similar distances & Smythy may prefer to keep the horse racing in Kalgoorlie at the moment. He might be tempted to have a shy at the stumps while the horse is in form too ;)
I haven't actually seen the horse in a live race so I am only commenting off his form guide.
It sounds like he'll be a pretty handy horse though when he fully matures & it still wouldn't surprise me to see him in mid week company soon. Just to test him out a little bit ;)
It takes 6 people to get the saddle on her on race day but when she gets on the track she is more tractable.
Sometimes when you take the spirit out of them you lose the horses will to win.
