What happened when she won the SA Oaks and Derby (age restricted races),  went from a rating of 82 to 105.

Still a lot lower than BHB's (for winning 2x G1's)
Missed the point, you stated "You can't get penalised open age points winning age restricted races."

Should you have added "in WA"?

But she didn't, in WA or SA.
Otherwise with two G1 wins she would be rated higher than BHB.

she got 3 points for winning a listed 3yr old race - Liberty got 5 points - any suggestion as to why that would be @Tivers :-?
  • LeglessLegless    5,108 posts
if there was a "glass ceiling" say at m82 for 3 yr olds in this state maybe I could understand but that is clearly not the case.

    Lucky Street is rated M87

The real question here should be: Is BHB(58kg) as good as Luckygray over a mile? [-( sorry @Bondyjnr

Been bandied around that the numbers are irrelevant little in her case, the handicapper has just slid her in at what he thinks 'is right' according to a Railway weight. How about some direct comparisons of a handicapper 'discretionary re-rating' of the 3yo to 4yo transition:

    Rommel wins a G3 and $100K over there ... for 13 points.

Since last re-rating, Delicacy wins 2 x G1s and a Derby for $1M, for only 10 points more.

He's rated Delicacy 2kg inferior to Playing God upon returning as a 4yo. "But he performed at WFA at 3" ... you mean the WFA scale that is built to enable such competitiveness? He couldn't win over there either.

Yet to see any sensible argument that says she didn't get in a bit light. Which normally wouldn't be a biggy, but when the bloke is already dominating ...

I thought I heard Bart is being killed off in The Simpsons by his long time nemesis Sideshow Bob?All we really need for life to imitate art would be for Simon Zahra or Ciaron Maher(Azkadellia would destroy the Railway field) to bring one of their horses across to upset the fav.

Big fan of Azkadellia ( has cost me a fortune). Don't think Ascot would suit its racing pattern.

Think I will wait till full field and barrier draws come out,as of late we have had only 7-8 horse fields,so its going to be a lot different  with a 16 horse field, really of the locals you can look at are BHB,Delicacy,Real love,Wink and a Nod and FB they have being fighting out the finishes in the local races of late, and I suppose just wait and see who or if any Eastern Staters come across.

    MEDIA RELEASE
WA’S GROUP 1 RACES TO BE BROADCAST LIVE ON CHANNEL 7
Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) and the Seven Network have today announced that all three of Western Australia’s Group 1 races, will be broadcast live state-wide on free-to-air television.
In May 2015, RWWA announced that the Crown Perth-Winterbottom Stakes, James Boag’s Premium-Railway Stakes and TABtouch-Kingston Town Classic, as Western Australia’s only three Group 1 races, will for the first time all carry stakes of $1 million as part of RWWA’s wider strategy to increase the profile, attendance and commercial benefit of feature races in Western Australia.
To consolidate on both the stake money investment and quality racing product on show, both Super Saturday (21 November) and TABtouch Kingston Town Classic Day (5 December) will be broadcast into WA homes on free to air’s premier racing Channel, Seven Perth.
“This partnership and investment with Channel Seven Perth plays an important role in driving increased profile for the sport of racing, along with broadening audience participation in our local industry,” said RWWA CEO Richard Burt.
“The broadcast specific to our feature races is also complimentary to RWWA’s overall commitment to ensure a positive and sustainable future for the racing industry by encouraging greater outreach and positioning of the Western Australian racing product,” said Mr Burt.
The Seven Network’s coverage of the Western Australian racing industry continues to grow with its coverage of Australasia’s premium harness event, the TABtouch Inter Dominion Grand Final announced earlier in the year, and now extending its support into the thoroughbred code for the illustrious Spring/Summer racing period.
“The Seven Network is proud to be associated with the Western Australian racing industry and we believe that this a great opportunity to showcase Group 1 racing, along with the fashion, fun and human interest stories associated,” said Chris Wharton, Chief Executive Officer, Seven West Media WA.
The Crown Perth-Winterbottom Stakes and James Boag’s Premium-Railway Stakes will be held at Ascot on Saturday 21 November 2015, and is Western Australia’s richest race day, offering total stakes for the nine race programme of $3 million.
The TABtouch Kingston Town Classic is the State’s premier middle distance weight for-age Group 1 race and will be run at Ascot two weeks later on Saturday 5 December 2015.

Had my IPad stolen back in early August. Just saved up enough to buy a new one. Got a lot of reading up to do! Good to see the healthy discussions still going strong. Best of luck to all punters in coming weeks.

So is anyone going to pay the extra $25 to see Birds Of Tokyo at the end of the day, or are the punters just gonna grab 2-3 drinks and watch/listen from afar!

Is this the first after SS band PR have charged for?  Seems excessive, will have to wait and see how many pay up!

The advantage of giving the band away for 'free' is everyone continues drinking, charging for it will surely reduce the number of people that stay behind to watch the band (and drink)

$35 entrance + $25 BOT seems a bit steep - saw BOT last year, so no need to pay to see them again, will watch and listen to them and then make my way home!

Cant beleave this $35 to get in $5-6 for a book $8 for a beer and then they want another $25 don't think so ,im a beleaver  that people go to races to watch races, and afterwards after the last talk to people and reflect on the day.

Yes but $35 just to see horses that usually run around on any given Saturday, sprinkled with some under achievers from the East Coast ?

Nah, I'm doing something else that day.

I'd love to go but working :(( first S/S I've missed in years :(
If I was going doubt I'd pay the $25 to see B.O.T though, have to be the music nazi and say I like their old stuff better than their new stuff. As it's no longer the Carlton Draught super saturday will there be free passes in the new sponsor's cartons?
