Quaddie Club - Proposal and setup

Punters Club
H-BOMBERH-BOMBER    10,567 posts
Hi all

Nominate here if you are interested. I can run it using an online Punters Club software, which keeps everyone paying a club and not a person. Bets can then be placed through a corporate to potentially source the best dividend. This is what I am thinking.

Thoughts?

I will also add through that if you used this software, then they require you to have a personal account also. Im not keen on that idea so i'll look elsewhere. All ideas welcome

H-BOMBER - I am in but I would prefer to bank deposit my money into an account rather than giving someone the authority to take it out. Am I reading this right? Regards Cisco

Yep fair enough, im with you there.

There is software available which tracks everything but doesnt take money from you etc, which is probably a lot more appropriate or suitable. I don't have corporate accounts except WA TAB so that might put people off as well not having access to the "best" dividends.

I live in Melbourne - my understanding is WATAB is the same as STAB.

What do you think about all members bank deposit/internet transfer to your personal bank account with reference details so you know who has paid and then you can put the bets on through WATAB?

I reckon see how we go and reassess once we begin in regards to best dividend, etc.

I am happy to contribute but I believe we should have two " quaddie experts" and they pick the numbers/decide if we need to lay off, etc, and the remaining members hang tough and "back them in".

These are only my thoughts because if we all want to contribute it will get too complicated.

    Cheers

    Im with @cisco
Deposit to one person who puts the bets on for us
No more than 3 people deciding the quaddie numbers so we dont have too many apprentice chefs at work

Yep, agree about having too many chefs in the kitchen.

Need to nominate a few guys to run the club.  Happy to have a voting system as @Chris has shown can be done, but then let the 2 or 3 guys running the club to finalise the betting based on the voting.  Or, we go with the idea of just letting them run it for us, without any voting!

Could either use the Sportsbet.com.au punters club software which handles all of the money/deposits etc.  However every member of the club has to have a personal account with Sportsbet.

Otherwise we just go with a TABtouch account (can have multiple names on the account) - which everyone can deposit into at any TAB.  Also that way we're keeping our betting money in WA (well as much as practical anyway)

    @hash - thoughts?

I'm in if we can come up with a plan!

Of the past 4 Saturdays at Ascot - STAB has paid out the lowest dividend 3 of 4 times.  But that could just be luck, have to think it'd have more money in the pool!

What are we looking at to go..........$100 each ????
Just from past experience........need a few rules in black n white.
Length of time run (52 weeks) ? ...Can people join in at a later date ?
What if a member wants to get out ?
I know they only seem trivial....but can cause a few head aches.

    cheers

I wont be in it as i seriously haven't landed one for years...but i thought just straight out adopting the rules for the current punters club would be the best way to go.

Split the dollars in an account with Sportsbet and the local TAB, and whoever's turn it is makes the call as to what meeting they bet on and what account they use. $100 in and 10% bet every week

Have the funds deposited into an account, try find the best one to cater for quaddie payouts eg. best of all 3 totes or a maxi divi etc...
Have 2 or 3 people everyone is comfortable with running it and accessing the account, need more than 1 incase someone isn't available each week, I can commit every second week 100% and take the reins and on the other week still can but be at slight risk of not being available to the internet and phones every minute of the morning leading up..
We can either make it $100 bet flat each Saturday or 10% of the bank, totally up to the others as I'm not fussed on this decision..
One person bets each week and has the final say 100% as to what combination is laid, of they choose to take others advice tips or not is totally up to them (just like the usual punters club)

    100 per punter.
Run it for as long as required? We could return fuck eggs in the first couple months and be broke or we could hit a big payout and some might want to cash out early, that'd be totally acceptable and understandable...
Don't think it's fair that others join in at a later date once they see the success of it IMO

If there were 10 people, I propose a 10 week trial, 1 punter per week (with input from others to be considered) and regardless of the result hand the baton over, then assess after this 10 weeks.

What are every ones thoughts on a weekly commitment? $20 per week per punter, a $200 quaddie per week could get a decent percentage or selections? ie Bank $2000

Only ONE venue with ONE quaddie bet

I think stick to Ascot and I like the ideas above.

@hash not sure you'll find anywhere that'll give max div on quaddies, best might be a mid tote.

10 people is easier to manage - I'm in for 100-200 commitment.

If we go with @H-BOMBER, we do 10 weeks at 100-200 per week flat, and then assess the club at the end of the 10 weeks, with every member having one go (remember said member can bet a few different quaddie combos)

My only thought is this. Stick to Perth Metro races. I have poor form in Perth and even worse in Eastern States races.

I like the trial of 10 weeks x $100 quaddie
Each player has the opportunity of their own selections
If there are more than 10 people wishing to have a go....GREAT.
Each extra player equates to 1 extra week at $100.
After the allotted  weeks we can assess if the QUADDIE CLUB is worth continuing.
If hash is agreeable...PM me your account details and I will deposit $100 on Friday.

    cheers

Sounds like a plan, how about we plan to start on Perth Cup Day and go for 10 weeks (or whenever the amount of people in the club takes us up to.  Each person puts in $100, which effectively equates to them paying for the quaddie for their week.  Each week one punter is up, no continuing on, just one punter per week, bets their $100 and at the end of the initial run, we pause and re-assess whether to go forward or stop! (maybe we'll be forced to stop!)

10 weeks takes us up to 1000 Guineas Day (March 5th)

Yep agree with everything above as a trial run! All perfect ideas.. The only thing I'd suggest to change once it's up and running is that if the punter returns double the investment they bet again next week.
Let's just agree on the amount, I'm happy to start at 100 each and bet 100 a week for 10 weeks.
Just say how or where to deposit the funds and we're good to go (possibly for this Saturday if not next Saturday)

Just make it a one off payment of $100 and that gets us 10 weeks of quaddies ;-)

Will Hill - pays mid tote or selected tote on quaddies
    Sportsbet - pays SuperTAB
    Crownbet - who knows?

Personally reckon we just stick with a TABtouch account for the trial period anyway!  Also makes it easy as everyone can just deposit into the account at any TAB agency.

I have an account which I don't use too much, so happy to use that if everyone is happy with that, otherwise we can open a new account in two names.

Yep can do that, if everyone can just put a 'I'm in' on this thread, if they are keen - $100 upfront, no withdrawls until after the initial trial - do we want to cap the amount of people in the club?  ie. for the trial anyway.

If everyone keeps their receipt from the deposit and just lets me know when they have deposited, we can keep a record of who has deposited, worst case, everyone has their receipt, so we can check.

    OK, so 'I'm in'

Once we have 10 people, I'll PM with account details
