Note to self, never ever ever ever ever ever EVER back a Troy Lewis/Brad Lynn horse from a bad draw ever again. EVER. They draw bad, they just don't try. Had something small on Walter James thinking he could follow Suspicious Life over, breeze and out stay him. Fair to say the lack of endeavour in the drive was disgusting and blatantly obvious.

Filthy weather down here, quite nasty wind and heavy rain. The boss used to say leave both your hands and your wallet in warm pockets on wet nights, anything can happen. Sage advice me thinks. Pretty good programme with the PBD in play. Hoping Beaudienne Boaz can run better ...been a while since he was upwards of $5 bucks....he will need to with Have Faith In Me the first horse to pay up 1st acceptance for the Inters. and Bettors at $1.40 from 7 will be a test.. Hoping The Black Lord steps okay in the stand.VK. old Perc will be hoping Mon Lamour gets sucked along on the pegs and runs well. Great that he still has the passion to train horses in the middle of winter, good on him. If it wins, you'll hear about it.

Forget that race Gilgamesh its history...race 2 is very interesting. John Of Arc back...Ima Connoisseur in fantastic form. Plus Burning & Torretto. One of the races of the night.

How good is racing, I love punting haha. Backed Ima Connoisseur. If he can qualify for the inters (don't even know if he's nom'd) would make the racing interesting with his want to run along.

Torrreto should be racing in SA.

Great runs Lisharry ( 3 back pegs - perfect) and Bettor Offer. Lissy boosted the novelty dividends. Actually ran a good race in the Pinjarra Cup last March behind Tricky Styx at 100/1.

When Kurious draws the ace...you start to get excited. When Kurious draws out he's the first one you put a line through.

How has it paid that after its last run drawing where it did? All up Luke Parker/Liba for the medal.

Someone might have picked up some mail from the serpentine post office on that improvement.

Very smart horse, who I thought was WAs next superstar. But **** me. THAT WAS AN IMPROVEMENT on his last few runs :-O

Apart from the horse being spot on tonight....the thing that was more spot on and even more appealing was the price!

SPOT ON. I understand the term riders.

    What a fucking ridiculous statement

It was not a STATEMENT Mick. just an uninformed opinion.
  • Sunnys Little Whiz looks to be the best trotter in WA at the moment. Goes close to being the best bred as well. Great buy given it was bought at a bargain basement price.

I think the Dylan Edgerton Green needs a big wrap for the job he has done with Suspicious Life, probably came to him has a horse with limited ability but that one big asset which is gate speed but he has just got him racing so well.

As mentioned earlier by me be all over Walter James when he draws a gate.

Watching the replay I thought it was a great drive by Warwick on Ima Connoisseur to just allow him to be happy and run time rather than try and force him to do something he didn't want to do (wasn't thinking that live at the 400m mark!)

Conversely thought the tactics on Mighty Major were stubbornness at its worst. Blissful Boy is a perfect horse to sit on over a mile as he loves the trip and goes keenly. There was no likely breeze horse in the race other than him so you you're likely to get your crack at it come the straight. Hand up they both earn. Instead they hold up, go quicker than their capabilities and run to form. Gee whiz as punters we are definitely nuts, who is backing Mighty Major at $2???

I'm not going to be a sceptic, was great to see Beaudiene Boaz go well. Really Bettors Fire ran his race in the first 1065m, Boaz the last 1065m. I don't think there was much between the merit of either run. Bring on the Stratton Cup I say, Heez On Fire the sleeper in the race pouncing over the final 200m. Snapped up some 500/1 for the inters so we can dream, needs to climb those rankings.

Both quads were very gettable and paid very handsomely.

    1.58.8 for the trotters!

Jnr drove well on the night, like that he is having a few more outside stable drives again.

Beaudiene Boaz is $12 and $3.75 for the Inters. Two things..1. He's here . 2. He's back in form. He would have been competitive and right up with the best of the best of them last night. Keep that form up and has to be a major player.

Just on that race...did you notice who was flashing home to steal 4th at 100/1 and boosting the first four dividend to lofty heights ? Yes the Brad Lynn trained Unsinkable Boxer. Reckon he does a marvellous job for a very low profile trainer. Him and Troy Lewis might have their limitations but they both keep at it and no fools when it comes to getting them into the money and often at big odds.

Three Kings was a good run last night too. One to follow from a good gate and going to the front..get in the que. Dean Miller drive on Lisharry sensible and well thought out.

Unsinkable boxer is ten. And runs 3 rd if he got out a few metres earlier. But Bettors fire did all the work at both ends. Great run. What was Clint Hall thinking? Maybe soften everyone up?

Overall i thought it was a great nights pacing

Did have a very small eachway bet on Springsteen( $5 each way ) thought it was way down in grade - allways going to get the perfect run - plus the sprint trip

And i did stand it out in $2 trifectas with several horses for 3rd -  including Mosquito Buzin - but i stood out Blissful Boy for 2nd - thought it would breeze and Springsteen would  beat it in  the straight - did note that BB broke gear - with Tajie Girl running 2nd - trifecta paid upwards of 3k - ouch

Playing the trifectas - just a couple of what i thought were bordering on shocking drives

Turvey ( who i think is a top line reinsman ) his drive on Sonic Classic - - who i stood out to run 2nd to the winner FF - he was directly behind it - he came out at the bell - i thought what are you doing - he flucked getting back in the running ( there was a bit of a kefuffle - so give him the benefit of the doubt ) - then before the Candy pole he hooks it out again - gets shoved 4 wide by FF ( presumably legally ) - normally 99% of the time NT would sit and follow up FF - ive got to be honest that was an appalling drive - just watch the replay - look like Nathe had the angry/impatient  pills last night
