    No Shittt Gray,

What a missed opportunity by the Turf Club this past week, I have said this the last 3 years on here. Last week there were up too 1000 men in Perth for Cricket Country Week, If you play cricket, you obviously love a beer and a punt.

Wednesday is rest day for country week, surely someone at Perth Racing, could go to the WACA and give them some free passes too get in and draw a crowd.

I know when they used to be run on a Wednesday, we would all go. Get home from the Hippie Club then Cas around 7am. 3 or 4 hours sleep then off to good ole Ascot for a day at the races. drinking women's **** to get over the hangover

Then they moved it to the country and we all head of to a Pubtab now, Mount Henry or the old Bel Air, depending on where we had our accommodation booked.

    Gee they were the days.

its free to get in mid-week, jum but they could have given a couple of drink vouchers and a hamburger freebee.
mate of mine was there on sat. and they were giving away hamburgers after the last..greedy bugger grabbed 2..lost on the punt, dinner fixed...

The problem nowadays with many racing administrators is that they are asleep at the wheel.

Looking at the Perth Racing Website, I note there are 8 Directors. O.K. so they would do very little except enjoy a very long lunch or dinner at the monthly meeting..

Then you have names and photo's of 6 people in positions such as acting chief financial officer and so on.

A lady by the name of Louise Ardagh, is the General Manager Commercial and Marketing, and there is a gentleman by the name of Tony Favazzo, the General Manager Hospitality and Event Operations, who's jobs would, at a very rough guess,  probably entail looking at the calendar year, or the racing calendar year which commences in August, and then go to the WA Government web site and look up events that are taking place in Perth, large or small.

I would think, and common sense would dictate, that, because their job title infers it, that they would get in touch with the sporting or other organisations that are coming to Perth at a time which will coincide with a Metropolitan Race meeting, and try to organise for them  to come to the track to enjoy a day out, provided the schedule, as it did with the example provided above by Jum, allowed it.

I don't know how much either of them get paid, but you would think that it's not too difficult a task to make a phone call or two and send an email.

They may not get a positive response for all sorts of reasons from all those they contact, but they don't need too many saying yes, in order for PR to earn a quid or two.

Now, if they actually do what I have described, all credit to them. If they do not, and Jum's example is just one missed opportunity that we know about, then perhaps the Directors need to have a chat with them.

Getting organisations to part with a dollar isn't easy, I will grant that, but you can't get them to do it, if you don't ask.

Maybe they need to replace the current incumbents, with Jum and Falcon.

    ^:)^

    Scott Embry’s Preview

    Race 1

SPIN ON COMMAND has been excellent at both runs this preparation and should get William Pike’s day off to a flyer. Could genuinely ride 90% of the card. PERCEPTIVE MISS hit the line hard albiet in a weak maiden. SMOKE ‘N’ MIRRORS can roll forwards and give cheek. SELF ASSURED next.

    Numbers 6 – 10 – 2 – 5

Suggested Bet –SPIN ON COMMAND WIN

    Race 2

SUNBOSS is an eye catching chestnut colt who is no doubt suited over further but if they turn the speed on he could be the blowout. HOW TO FLY is the logical favorite and will be holding the weight of a lot of Pike punters. COLD AS COLD did it tough down the wrong part of the Pinjarra straight. DEMTIMES gets a soft run.

    Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 2

    Suggested Bet – SUNBOSS EACHWAY

    Race 3

DRIFTSTAR could well be one of the Simon Miller two year olds we have all been waiting for. Looks a professional and a nice horse in the making. UNIVERSAL APPEAL showed blistering speed in both trials. TRADE PRIZE should hit the line. STARES ANDWHISPERS never settled on Saturday. Could improve.

    Numbers 3 – 10 – 5 – 9

    Suggested Bet – DRIFTSTAR WIN

    Race 4

GET THE VIBE has contested exclusively tougher races than this throughout her entire career. On paper this looks the most winnable race she has ever seen. DEEP COVER can give them all something to catch. BELLA’S KEEPER will appreciate the speed being on. MISS SWINDLE was never a hope when caught deep last start.

    Numbers: 8 – 1 – 7 – 6

Suggested Bet – GET THE VIBE WIN

    Race 5

GO CRYING won a soft Albany maiden and then was thrown into the deep end in an open Saturday 3 year old race against some nice types. Can roll forwards and be hard to run down. STATE PROSECUTOR pulled himself into the ground last start and was game in defeat. ASCOT GOLD an improver out in trip. Al CAPITANO next.

    Numbers: 4 – 2 – 7 – 6

Suggested Bet – GO CRYING EACHWAY

    Race 6

REGAL MOON has never seen a field this weak in her life. If she really is a 1400m horse than should be winning on her ear. WANTED DESIRE has had no luck all preparation. Pays to forgive almost all her runs. IRISH MOSHE belted moderate opposition at her WA debut. HE’S DUNNA RUNNA should get it soft.

    Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 2

Suggested Bet – REGAL MOON WIN

    Race 7

SUMMIT TRAIL kicked clear at the top of the straight last start and looked home for all money. Can do similar here. BROTHER’S KEEPER brought his strong midwest form to town last time out in a tougher race. PRYING TOM was never in the race after Scooner fell. Previous form solid for a race like this. ROGAN SCENT was an eye catching effort when resuming.

    Numbers: 5 – 1 – 3 – 6

Suggested Bet – SUMMIT TRAIL EACHWAY

    Race 8

ORANGE STRUDEL is a hard horse to catch but is going really well at the minute. Bungled the start and did exceptionally well to finish as close as she did last start. BOUNCE DOWN was far from disgraced in a stronger Saturday field fresh. MASQUERADE gave them windburn first-up. No doubt carrying the hopes of many an odds-on multi player. FLOWER OF SCOTLAND next.

    Numbers: 6 – 5 – 7 – 2

Suggested Bet – ORANGE STRUDEL EACHWAY

    Race 9

BURGER TIME is a big strong stayer resuming at a mile. His trial was very handy and could run a nice race fresh. KING OF CHAOS has never been beyond 1400 but won well at Bunbury. COME ON BOARD is a personal favourite who will pinch another race fairly soon. SKIP TRACER is one at odds who could bob up.

    Numbers: 3 – 5 – 2 – 8

Suggested Bet – BURGER TIME EACHWAY

    Quaddie (Races 6 – 9)

    1,4,6

    1,2,3,5,6

    2,5,6,7

    1,2,3,5,7,

Go the full 9 yards and get shot down, needlessly to say I won't be bothering to spend time on future race dates..I was just trying to keep the site alive.

Hmmm..I had you at $1.30ish to have an as many leg mutli as your allowed to on pikey today @H :P

He surely wins the next to go 2/2 to open proceedings, so he really could ride 5 or 6 today.
I am on King of Chaos boosted to $3.4 in the last, hopefully he is also "bookends pikey" today.
