R1: Good firmer Commander Chapel, i'm going to follow in. He is the class, fitter now, breeze and win.

R2: I'm a sucker for The Trilogy, 3 back the pegs here can give this a good shake as a mid tote bet at bigger odds available than current fixed.

R3: I don't like the odds of both the favs here, out to 2500m again driven ice cold a 1by3 bet for me on Bracken Sky, one of a few I like at odds that some batsmen across the river would be happy with.

R4: Odds suggest Speed Man leads as similar connections to the horse drawn inside him. I was on him last start and was disappointed. I'd rather back Vultan Tin here for his honesty, no idea how he wins it but know he will bedoing his best.

R5: I've taken some cricket score odds about Theo Aviator earlier in the week, 3 back the pegs, will appreciate the 2500m as he is slow to stoke up. The other horse that interest me is Eloquent Mach.

R6: Im Soxy to track Therugo, will need a bit of luck but if he gets it plays a big part.

R7: Another one of my cricket scorers here After Lunch. I just thought they might cook this early and she can scream home over them

R8: On to the next batesman Crocodile Kid. Didn't like the effort of Stefsbest last week after reports of it working well. Just betting on the 1 and 3 maybe having a tussle early but this one really is only for the ashtray money.

R9: Not a lot you can do here is there? Maybe play the 7 and 8 up in the first fours behind the 2 hoping they can out perform those higher up in the markets.

R10: Can Jnr punch Rockmenow to the front? At EW odds i'm happy to back it.

Bob Wheel if he gets to breeze I think can run a good race.
Nugget thinking same stable as you Gilga but different horse Robbie Easton think he will cross the two then duck for cover then one last crack at them. Should be a great race what a bunch of 4 yo we have this year and good to see majority Aussie bred.

Very good results tonight on a number of fronts.

1. Local country born boys trainer and driver and long time WA owners emerge with a deserved quality performance in winning a time honoured G1.

2. WA breeders KTC Bloodstock via the Charles family investing heavily locally breed the Westbred quinella ...with the first 4 in the third consecutive 4 y/o feature being bred in this country ...primarily in WA

3. Vultan Tin...another classy Westbred warrior took out the FFAll class.

4.The myth of the imported standardbred being superior suffered another hit.

5.The administrative genuflection to racing policy that actively discouraged local breeding for years has been exposed as a detrimental lazy ill considered and sycophantic folly.

Great drive by Aidan Decampo and gave his nemesis a few old fashioned footy bumps on the way through.
Sangue Reale the unlucky runner reckon we were only a split second off another protest, wouldn't that have been interesting.
In the end the drive on Shockwave won him the race and you could see there was no way Aiden was going to let the race go to anyone else.

Freodockers----- 100% on all fronts,just goes to show how fickle the interpretation of protests can be, shockwave balanced up for the run to the judge in three-wide line, shuts the gate in the two wideline,.the width of a bees knee from another objection.

toughness and determination shown by both horse and driver for Aiden to get up for the drive after being poleaxed at Narrogin showed real guts ,respect earned well done mate .

Is there a better way to spend a warm Summers night then at GP and last night with a cracking Golden Nugget race befitting the quality of the field and the race's history.

A well deserved Group 1 win to Shockwave after missing out last start and good to see another quality WA Westbred winner.

A good crowd was on hand too especially after the cricket finished and another meeting on tonight at GP hopefully should get a fair few coming over the bridge for the last half of the card for a few frothies and a bet at pacing headquarters!

A.DeCampo pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 248 of making improper comments about the stewards when being interviewed on track by Sky Channel. In determining penalty stewards took into account A. DeCampo’s good record, that it was uncharacteristic and the emotion he felt on losing a race on protest, however stewards considered the words spoken by A. DeCampo were not only improper but detrimental to the image of harness racing due to being broadcast over Sky Channel nationally. A. DeCampo was fined $4000 with $2000 suspended for 12 months on the condition he not re-offend under this rule or a similar rule in that period.

Ok, I have a couple of problems here. First the amount of the fine is F*cking Ridiculous. $4k even half suspended is a joke, and the stewards need to take a long hard look at themselves. They are the ones that are being detrimental to the image of racing. They in fact are pitiful. Secondly, the reason for the high fine is it was broadcast over Sky. Knowing the way Sky operate, it was probably on Sky 2, on a qtr screen and with sound coming from Hove dogs.

Never challenge the hierarchy you might expose them.
After taking a group 1 race off him under controversial circumstances you would have thought commonsense would have prevailed and a 12 month deferred penalty put in place.
But no we will bash him up even more to make an example of him and make sure no one attempts to expose us again.

100% Agree Freo, with all the skeletons in the Hierachys closet they are using the sledge hammer approach to rule. Their consistency and decision making are a joke and a broom needs to be taken to it starting from the top.

Great to see Carl back in a role such as this, a great steward and one of the nice guys.

Pretty simple really.... if he didn’t insinuate on a national level that the stewards cheated him out of a win (if he keeps a true line it gets beat anyway) he wouldn’t have copped the fine

Did anyone see the protest at Ascot against Taxagano last Wednesday at Ascot?

Looked very similar, shifted out in the straight, no contact but safely held the 2nd horse last 50mts.

Protest dismissed but this protest was against Fred Kersley.

Looks even more shady on the stewards by giving him such a large fine. It was a controversial decision, emotions were running high.

Toepuntit in theory your correct but I think the argument here is consistency.
Drivers are continually fined for drifting out up the straight, on the odd Occassion there is a protest, on a very very very rare occasion it's upheld.
Yes he drifted out, did it warrant being upheld based on previous decisions ???
You would be fairly confident in saying no.

Haha yep ,though I Did say to come back after I had finished un-gearing and washed down the horse and they never came back ,horse had to be attended to first as it was first priority ,guess it can’t have been that important ;) nobody contacted me next day nor since , I’m happy out of the spotlight though lol
