Thought he was home Blake. Ran well and was well ridden. Winner is flying although I gave it no chance.

i didn't back secchio when he won on the sunday and the wednesday, backed him on cup day so therefore stopped him, didn't back him today and he knocks me off

i got no hope today of breaking even , would of loved it if storm on by had got up , caller one again thought was a chance at the 200-150 mark but just plugged away from then on , might take the big odds of the jinx to get up in the last , but will more likely get backed in

I reckon favourite punters will be filthy with Pike after his ride in the last. Had an opportunity to get to the outside but went inside and got pocketed......ouch.
  • Just bad luck Rodent. Had to make a split second decision and took the wrong one. A good thing beat.

Did he run into the back of that horse - or did he have to check??

    Bad Luck??? Bad Ride
  • He went to take a marginal gap and it closed on him. Do you really think he steered it straight up the back of another horse ???
Made a split second decision and got it wrong. Bad luck IMO.
Early, made the decision not to push up deep from the wide barrier and would probably been better off to do that. Its easy to ride them from the armchair.

Not talking from the kick either - Black Douglas does not stop - keeps batting away - I'll have a look at the replay

Bloody disgraceful--totally slaughtered it. He should never have got into the position he did--had plenty of opportunity to stay off the fence but decided to push up on the rails and found nothing but trouble. How often do you see it when a jockey 'rides for luck' they don't get any?
  • Answered the question yourself GP. Rode for luck and didn't get any. Just a bad luck ride, you win some you lose some.
  • Who got suspended Gilcrist or Pike either Gilcrist shifted in and tightend Giled Venon or Pike went wear there was no room. One must be at fault.
  • Well spotted last week Darrah, u black booked me

chaz who taught you to spell Michael?

If he hadn't had made the stupid decision to go up on the rail at the 1200m he would not have been in that position--the race was lost at the 1200, not the 100. If a young 16yr old kid had stuffed up that bad there are many here who would have wanted to hang him, but because it is the untouchable Pike little is said--he is a top rider, but this one was a crap ride

I would say Gilcrist will get time he shifted in and tightend Giled Venon on the front on shot 8)

It was not the smartest ride I have seen this month.

Good read re Matt from Ascot bookmaking. Race 8 was 'a king size hold' with many backed. Seems like bookies made a killing on the day.

Solidwickedcruel ran a great race first up in the Ruabon. Should pick up a race soon, and loves the Ascot track.
