I thought I was getting overs this morning at $12 and $3 but it held up pretty well in the market.

The horse breaking outside it turning for home helped but still had to make up the ground.

Happy to take the $5 tonight about Carramar Philemon. Priced as thought it would be taking a sit but I thought it could lead comfortably if they wanted so why not go for an all the way win in this grade? If it does sit no less than a $5 chance to me.

Also Nightwatch Star is definitely worth a bet at around $6 with the master in the cart

I think Jay Jays horse - poetic  justice that it got 2nd - because i thought it got shoved 4 wide at the bell - when the rules say it shouldnt have got shoved 4 wide at that point

Idont bet at GP - but when betting elsewhere - i dont like that happening - especially if ive had a decent wager

An enjoyable nights racing so far. I thought Hayden Charles might have a bit to say about the end result in this race so I’m going to have a few dollars on Tradie thinking the fav doesn’t get the favours.

No champ Marko but she tries hard and can't ask for more. I wish I had a dollar for everyone that tells me she is no good. She got home really well after getting few favours in the run. Approaching $100k in LTE, Matt has placed her brilliantly.

The fav in the trot may be a risk over the mobile 2536m. It's form over journeys further than 2200m is one start for a leader to last effort over 2700m at Bathurst when it stopped badly .It may be tested in this race by some others. Might have a look at some tough others.

Sound logic Curmudge and turned out right too, hope you found the winner but gee some run by the short price fav in defeat.
  • curmudgeoncurmudgeon    2,417 posts
Ended up plonking for a first four VK ....The geezer ko'd me in that.....stood out the winner and had a couple of others for 2/3 and fd for fourth.
Result re the fav was correct ultimately .....but the rationale was astray.
Not to worry....on the way to the pavilion when I got called back for the last ...the 2536 is key to finding the winner here too.

Another race for our stable with multiple runners, another race where our runners have drawn side by side.

Our 2yos are the only ones who dont. There has been maybe 3 races (besides our 2 x colts) where our horses haven't drawn together since December

Adore Me Some More sure has a horseshoe up its ass too. 2, 2, 2, 1, 6, 1 and only drawing 6 where it HAD to draw 6 being the only horse in the race with HWOE. The 2yo fillies seem to be drawing sequences. Benesari Lane with 4 (4, 4, 4, 2, 5, 4) - drawing 5 where I believe it could only draw 4 or 5, our filly with 5 (5, 6, 5, 3, 4, 5, 5). Makes me want to change her name. We put her in for Tues thinking she'd draw OK after drawing 5 on Saturday and yup, another 5

I can understand the frustration given barrier draws are so important, and have to trust that the machine is working correctly! I look at some horses like Sergeant Oats (no knock on horse) and his racing career has remarkably been nearly all inside barriers.

Eight consecutive winners for Ryan Warwick and two of those not from the Bond stable.

Not bad for someone who supposedly can't drive.

His drive on The Bird Dance in the wet at Pinjarra today was a pearler.

Whats the WA record for most consecutive wins by a driver?

Coulson drove 5 from 5 on December 26th,, 1978 and then drove the first winner on the programme on Dec 29th to make it 6 metro successes in a row. His next drive was on Pure Steel and it ran 2nd to Royal Force to bring the streak to an end. I think that has now been surpassed or at least equalled by Gary Hall Jnr.

**** *****, who played between 1951 and 1986, participated in 600 games with Mangalo, Cowell, Gawler Central, Robertstown and Rudall.

Name the reinsman and horse who came to WA  circa 1981 to compete here.

Looks like 9 in a row coming up tonight when he goes around on another value runner for the bond stable. Even i will tip my hat to that effort. Albeit 7 of the 8 winners shorter than $2.60 and on country tracks.....still a good effort not to make a blue for 8 races in a row.

Never said he cant drive chariots just said he is over rated and gets more odds on faves beaten than any other driver since i have been following harness racing.
Would love to see his stats on faves in only friday night GP meetings.
Because lets be real.....as hunty would say thats where the big boys come to play.
Even the kid dylan has pulled is pants down a number of times in big races on the second stringers this season.
Beating up on country hacks whilst steering lamborginis doesn't necessarily make you a great driver.
Last time i looked i believe this is a "forum" where your allowed to have an opinion.
We all have our favorite drivers to punt on and hes not one of mine....if he is yours or anyone else's on here, then good luck to you.
    Each to there own....

On the subject of winning streaks i remember geoff webster having a streak either in the high teens, or maybe even low twenties, about 15 years ago when he dominated SA racing. Not surprisingly jim jaques got more excited with his calls as the streak grew longer.
Surely that will never be matched
