Without seeing the head on looked like Bright Diamond didn’t want to push through the gap, travelled up to them with ease and with more room wins very easily I would suggest.  But great result for you Thunder well done

The acceptance and subsequent scratching of 58 rater Starof Bonnie Rose by Dion Luciani in a 78+ is pretty cynical when the obvious beneficiary is Marocchino trained by Lou Luciani.

    Why was it benefiting Marocchino?
Bacause the race may have been deleted and Marocchino was the most likely to win given the market.
Is there a LR that says if only 4 acceptors then it's deleted?

I'm not sure if it a rule but it happens

The reason it benefits Marochino is that the horse was supposedly going to the paddock after last start and pulled up well, so this was a last fill-up before a spell. With the threat of the race called off through minimum acceptors, I reckon there was a little waxing here by Team Luciani to get the Marochino benefit stakes included without a doubt.

That may not what has happened. But it sure looks like it.

anyway back to belmont thoughts...i'm backing mrs. browns boy, down from a 74 to a 72. butters up from a good run last week. worried about Billy but first look at belmont and first go at the mile, so will take the quinella.

my real "ruffie" is peko in r8.

God it's absolutely galling when you go wide on a quad and miss the first leg. Originally had The Spruiker in there with a few others but changed the mind. After all these favs early I just knew the roughies were coming later in the program

^ you'll be further p*ssed off if you get the other 3 legs!!..... ~X(

brad rawiller will think he's back in melbourne in these last 2 races...

Maybe, but it could have run and copped a fair cheque for just going around, and more than likely no rating hike.

Sure there was standard practice that if at acceptance time if the Tab couldn't pay 123 with 8 runners--------- Committees had the discretion to delete that particular race depending on its importance .but not quite sure how it plays out now. Other wise Kalgoorlie today would have a three race card.

So are you dirty on the outcome, the horse racing or the entries to the race??? If they abandoned the race where does the prize money go? Certainly not into the benefit of the racing. Pretty sure Dion runs his own agenda and is not part of " team Luciani " anymore. You all appear to be caught up in the tall poppy syndrome. Heaven forbid a horse takes advantage of the lack of staying horses in WA atm and other trainers nominate accordingly. No one knows what will be nominated by all accounts Marocchino was going to the paddock but obviously pulled up well and knew with Adams horse heading east there wasn't much else around Goodluck to them Lou has been around long enough to know what horses are out there without relying on anyone else.
So over all of you being so negative on everything. I will now retire my account on this forum

Not on the quality of what you guys bitch about.
I do read everything and quite seriously you all talk through your hip pocket. No probably don't have a lot to say but when you all start actually talking sense then maybe I will.
Hows about talking about the shit show at Belmont. Access to the track for the public. The older patron walking in the rain to get in. Lack of food out lets. Cost of everything and anything I really can't be bothered going on

If you have been reading everything you would have seen 100s if not 1000s of comments on those issues, people have just given up on the likelihood that anything is going to change.

Belmont is cooked. The emperor condemned it, he gets celebrated with a race in his honour and the old folks get even more disgruntled. C’ste la vie

For the adventurous septuagenarians I think a climbing wall is being installed in the carpark to warm you up for the trek in. Been there once in twenty years....won't be going back. A wasteland. I can walk out onto my front lawn and turn the hose on myself to experience Belmont au naturale if I want.

Every time I see that clip I get stuck on the part where he says "A lot of well informed people have told us this is mission impossible" That there just shows the belligerence that this "development" was forged on with.
