R1- Best Bet: TRIX OF THE TRADE looks like he can continue to rise to the occasion as he faces stronger opposition. Is the kind of the horse who won’t win by margins but is very versatile as he can fight to the line and looks to have a real turn of foot hidden away. Put himself into the one one on debut before winding up into the race on the turn of winning soft before breezing outside Wuhan Warrior with 60kg and worrying him out of it in a very high rating race. Think he’s a serious talent and drops 2kg into a Saturday race.
R2- WILCHINO is mich better than Westspeed 58+ grade. Has been consistently producing big figures throughout her career over the short course and the best of her should see her winning black type at some stage. The wide barrier is no concern as she’s fast out the gates and should be able to cross easily if she wants or breeze if that’s the intention. From there the only luck involved with her is the question of if she’s fully sound.
R3- NEXT STOP THE MOON looks a senior rider horse and gets one for the first this prep in Joseph Azzopardi. Ran a big race three back when taken on mid race and fighting all the way to the line when a close up second. Flopped a bit at his next two but did have some excuses and managed to drop four ratings points between them to get back to a weight where he doesn’t need a claim. Comes back to 1400 and draws out so he can work his way to the fence. From there he rolls along and can fight on a soft track.
R4- ALLEZ ALLEZ looks ready for a staying trip. Has been in some high rating 1600m+ races this prep including two strong wins. Looked in all sorts of bother when held up last start but really picked up to grab Gunnago near the line after that horse had got rolling with 3L back to third. Is the kind of horse who can be put into a spot and settle and so shouldn’t have to go right back from seven.
R5- GUNNAGO was a big improver back from the staying trips to 1700 last start. Was a good second in stronger grade over 1600 four back before two moderate runs over the extended trips but did drop a few points for those runs. Got stuck deep early last start and worked around them to get to the breeze and found something in the straight. Sticks to the mile trip here and stays in the same grade but draws a much better gate to get a midfield run with cover.
R6- RED PUBLISHER has like the entire Maley yard refound his best form. Ran a couple of decent thirds in small field two and three back over this trip before dropping back to 1400 in the primary form reference being the Ngawyni Stakes. Put himself close and really came at the line to be the best performed out of the race. Gets back to 1600 in a race where he can follow the two speed horses across and likely lobs third in the clear. From there they’ll roll and he can bide his time and be the first to pounce.
R7- JAG THE JOKER is another in form runner from the Ash Maley yard. Breezed outside a strong tempo two back when only beaten by a returning mare who could be in for a big prep. Last start put herself in the one one, travelled strongly and did what she had to do to win. Beat Ohbeeh who is no slouch and draws to get an identical run here where a few of the talents are drawn to go back to last. Good money spinner who tries every start.
R8- ISEERED ISEERED is a serious talent who returns first up no trial. Bolted in first up no trial on debut when a massive plunge horse. First up last prep was second behind Island Charm beating Gemma’s Son and Madam Torio in a high rating 1000m 3yo race. Won two other 3yo races before ending his campaign splitting Acromantula and Vadette De Star who are talented themselves. Comes out running from the deep and can find the fence if he wants and could be too slick for 66+ grade.
R9- NOTORIOUS ONE looks a class above this. Will get beat from time to time purely because of his racing style and manners but only needs things to half go his way at the moment in ratings races. Came from what looked an impossible position first up at 1200 to win soft before getting beaten by his style two back when a moral beat. Wasn’t an easy watch again last start but got there on the line. Could be a bit of heart in your mouth stuff from barrier one but happy to back CJP to work his magic again.

The way he holds his head reminds me of a past champ from WA... Northerly.
Not necessarily saying he's going to be that good, but he does have some X factor
