Cup patrons require double vax cert and masks. Add in the drinking/eating on seated areas, going to be a thin old cup day. People will resort to their own cup days at home surely l

The Perth Cup meeting,at this stage, is the only meeting where participants have to be doulble vaxxed.

All other meetings will revert back to rules provided beforehand.
Chariots If Im correct it is a WA situation only
    ,
At this stage all participants don't have to be double vaxxed ..

I assume this is not a WA situation only.  As I understand it all participants in the other states are required to be double vaxed.

Must’ve been one of the sticking points with the state government

sorry arapaho, at this stage..ie 10am 28/12...ALL participants must be double vaxxed....ie EVERYBODY who goes thru the gates on cup day.

Sorry Falcon we are getting wires crossed

All participants (Licence holders) in the racing industry ,at this stage do not have to be Double vaxxed.(NOT LIKE EASTERN STATES) was answering Chariots

Understand participants must be doubled vaxxed to attend Perth Cup meeting.(ONE-OFF)

At this stage any Participants( trainer, jockey, etc ) who is NOT double vaxxed can attend any other meeting held,

    Until further notice..

    Hope that clears things up.

Be interesting if a bread & butter jockey went to the jockeys association -----I am following the protocols I am double vaccinated & now jockeys who normally ride in the city are taking my rides at Gero.as non-conformists

So Rwwa should call it across the board ? Victorians did

The requirement for Cup Day is by government not by RWWA

Correct Government ---my point based on jockey may normally have 5 rides at Gero. If Pike.Whiting. Two Turner's? decide to go

RWWA have absolved responsibility by leaving it to the Government unlike the other states where the controlling authorities have mandated double vax for participants at all meetings.

NYE at GP is another meeting where double vax is required and it will be interesting to see if the rumours about certain drivers are correct.

Official post says NO requirement to prove vaccination at GP

The Gloucester Park New Year’s Eve event will proceed, however, all patrons, fraternity and staff must abide by the current WA Government restrictions.

    • For all restaurant and function bookings, food and beverages must be consumed while seated. Masks to be worn inside unless eating or drinking.

    • Non-restaurant patrons can purchase food and beverages, however they will need to be seated to consume all food and beverage products.

    • A zero tolerance policy will be in place and if a person does not abide by the rules they may be evicted.

    • When outside the buildings, patrons must abide by the social distance rule of 2sqm and wear masks if you cannot social distance.

    • The 2sqm meter rule means that there will be a restriction on how many will be allowed on course, there are currently approximately 1500 tickets for the event available, tickets can be purchased here: https://www.gloucesterpark.com.au/events/new-years-eve-fireworks/

    • No dancing will be permitted

    • Kids entertainment will be limited to activities that are approved under the guidelines and policed accordingly

    • There will be no requirement to show proof of vaccination

Clearly, Perth cup was negotiated with the govt as an event. Most events have been cancelled.
They’ve done well to negotiate it going ahead with those conditions, one being proof of double vax.
I’m guessing they don’t think GP will be a big enough event?
  • tonytony    2,437 posts
One of the articles I read indicated that the government will be using the Perth Cup as a "test event" to see how proof of double vacc. goes prior to Feb 5th.

NYE at GP will definitely be over the 1000 benchmark requirement. Before Liquor and Gaming stepped in used to attract a crowd of 25,000

There was a honcho from Perth Racing (Keith, Kev????)  I didn't know him, being interviewed on 6PR but he basically regurgitated SkidMark McGrinch's press conference regarding Perth Cup Day.

During a very friendly Perth Cup promo he was asked the tough question 'When do the gates open for entry to the public?" His answer  I DON'T KNOW. I was shouting the answer at my car radio. I also expressed a friendly remark referring to the fact he should phone McGowan and check with him.

Ike would be more gender appropriate but is already taken.

The 2022 TABtouch Perth Cup will be a little different. We would like to remind guests that you must be seated whilst eating and drinking at Ascot Racecourse. In GA areas patrons are able to bring fold-out chairs and picnic blankets to be used on our grassed areas for seating. We ask that you are respectful of our staff and follow any directions given on Saturday. Thank you for your understanding, please remember to bring your mask and proof of COVID-19 double-dose vaccination with ID. We look forward to seeing you for an enjoyable Perth Cup - Gates open at 8.30am.

Chariots you are right NYE at GP will definitely be over 1000.

But the ruling, released by RWWA  -

If a club expected crowds of over 1000 or more, then all attendees had to be double vaxxed,
Was only going to be implemented on or after Feb 5 if and when the border was opened

So assume any conditions set for the time being, will be at the governments discretion.

Doesn't surprise me that the trots aren't  taken seriously again.
