I do like horses tonight at Albury Carrick and Parkes and have backed them accordingly

However the 2 WA meetings - i went through them last night - the odds were up - and are they tough

Bunbury - got 6 very very short odds on faves - and the other 2 races - in both of them - there are 2 horses in each race - just over the $2 mark - so Bunbury is purely tris and 1st 4s - that is the only way you will make a quid

GP - wow - take Race 1 - you could make a case after watching replays like i did - for 7 to 8 horses to win that race - it will all come down to who gets the best run - you have to be Nuts to have a bet in Race 1

Go to Race 6 - i do think the 12 Sahara Storm  is the best horse - however its a 3 yr old filly - taking on open age mares - theres 2 others who have drawn much better and are tight in the market . Theres $3.20 on offer for Sahara Storm - logic and common sense says dont bet - and i havent

Bunbury i will put on tris and 1st4s this afternoon -and GP will purely be a watch and enjoy situation for me

Just one race for me tonight and it’s race 1. Flowritter is a fantastic price. I don’t rate the gate speed of the horses drawn under him-always dangerous fraught with danger A)expecting the connections think the same and B) you are actually right but I though he could even find the top from out there if they lite him up. He’s not hopeless if they don’t.

Then taking him and Battlescard who should get a lovely run through in some novelties.

    That horse Regazzo Mach
    Another disaster from NZ
He will get a few easy kills but at the end of the day he is no superstar.

Very nice horse Ideal Agent both in looks and ability. When drawn to lead, he can run some serious time....and did.

Agree JayJay but there’s plenty others the same at GP that didn’t cost 400.0k.

How good the quinella race 4 at Bunbury?. It might have happened before but I can't recall The Mayor Of Ravensthorpe ever having quinella'd a race before. Happy New Year John Fagg, safe and happy travels on the long haul back to the farm tonight.

    Terrific drive Aldo Mach Storm.
Looks easy on a horse like that in front but having to manage a quarter under 28 mid race over 2500 then fight off a late swooper ?? All I can say is well done.

Off to OPSM after the last at Bunbury......thought the 3 got there, checked the photo finish, enlarged it......clear margin on what is on HRA website....deadheat called?

Nevermind Jay Jay - if your right about the no 3  - then Bob Mellsop will cop that on the  chin - take it in his stride - only joking

I read an article about 3 months back - when young Bailey McDonough accepted the job offer at the  powerful Emma Stewart stable in Vic - and also to link  up with his father who is over their

And Bailey said - and i dont know if it was his 1st winner in WA - it might have been - but he was in one of those junior  driver invitation races at Pinjarra - and he just happened to be driving the $1.90 Mellsop trained fave

He said before the race - Bob and he was 100% serious - said to him - Win or dont bother coming back - young Bailey all throughout the race - was thinking to himself - how do i take this horse back to Bob if i get beat - hah - but it was all sweet because he won the race

    JayJay said:

That is not a clear margin. Ghosting on 3s nose gives an illusion. It was a dead heat.

But the quality of the photos has improved greatly recently.
