    doubt you could get him out of nsw with a crowbar. just imagine being one of the most sought after jockey in sydney after only  a few months...quite an achievement.
    what he must be earning is astronomical.
    the wizard of the west is now the sultan of sydney.

    its over, rodent, at least "everybody" thinks it is. only a few months/weeks ago the lead story of every newscast was the number of cases reported in the last 24hrs and any deaths. now, not a whisper.
    remember when we were all going to get bird flu, mad cow disease was going to wipe the cows from the planet etc etc. yesterdays news...

    Reckon Willie might have a bit of "up yours" W.A on forcing him to go interstate to keep plying his trade. Doubt he is in a hurry to return. :-h

    Pleasing to see some of the other better WA riders getting aboard quality animals that were likely to be allocated to William ....and mostly doing a great job in any case.

    Hope he enjoys the racing over there too much, i find the racing here refreshing without him. Been a great 6 months, nothing against the bloke, but everyone has a new lease on life in his absence. The playing field has been evened out, that cant be bad for racing right?? Sorry if that offends some but thats how i feel

    I take your point and agree 100%. Mandates were always a joke, tens of thousands a cases a day in a 97% double vaxxed population but somehow Willie, Alana Williams, Liam Jones amd anyone else were a huge risk to society.  Biggest sham on the Aus population of all time amd they are getting rewarded for it with record election results.

    Pike wasn’t forced out of WA. He made a decision not to have the vaccination and that put himself out of WA. He could have kept riding here if he wanted too. i also think he saw the writing on the wall with Peters good horses heading east.

    Not a big issue but due to choosing not to have the vaccinations he actually was forced to leave the state, a massively bigger industry being NSW didn't have the same mandates so on his bike he went.. happy days for all concerned.

    That's a poor argument. What if the government decides to mandate something you find unacceptable? You'd be forced out too. Or would you simply say, I'm not being forced out at all. It is my choice whether or not to comply.
     If you are happy with government having that much control, I sincerely hope you are in the minority. In W.A it seems people are happy to cede their liberty to government.

     p,s I'm happy for government to temporarily restrict movement in emergency situations. I just think that Covid had been around long enough and that there was enough evidence out there to suggest that the mandatory vaccination that made Pike leave W.A was a huge overreach and has no place in a so called free society.

    I've known more people (including me) to get it in the last month than compared to the whole time previously. I think this just shows how effective we were at keeping it at bay for so long.

    There are many mandates we have no control over but they are set for the common good. My Mum had to go into hospital yesterday and as my wife is only just out of isolation, she was unable to accompany her to the ward. I've got no chance as still in iso, yet we are her only family here. Makes it tough but one can understand why. Finding a balance is always difficult.

    Be interesting to see what the world would look like if a few on here ran for parliament.

    Keeping it at bay temporarily comes at a huge cost. You eventually get it anyway. So what was the pay off for investing a huge amount? 
     Bear in mind, it had to be delayed until people could get vaccinated but once those who wanted to be vaccinated were, what was the point in pursuing zero covid for so long?

    Speaking of the great one, it should be Pikey in the 2nd last today at Canterbury.
    He reunites with one of Hawkes gallopers he won on there last start, rinse and repeat today maybe stay off the fence back in the 9 horse field or pinch runs again then manoeuvre wider straightening and storm down the middle.
    Gets 6kgs off the toppie should be enough in heavy ground go figure.

    pay days for jocks eh? yeah, ok, i've got too much time on my hands...i did a quick tally on one of our top jocks for last saturday...18/6.
    he had a full book of 9 rides and won 3 and was placed on a couple of others....his pay day (go and sit down).....a couple of bucks either way of $12,000.
    no wonder there are a few mercs and beemers in the jocks car park and we hear they have 2 or 3 houses..

    hoofnote: even if he had not ridden a placed horse with 9 rides (based on @ $200 a ride) close to $2 grand pops into his bank account.

    Yeah Falc, i remember parking my car besides Malcolm Johnsons Ferrari at the Hawkesbury Races back in the 70s, not bad for a young apprentice.

    He drove a Pontiac Trans Am. It had EAGLE 1 number plates (he's a Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles supporter). I think it had a mural of an eagle on the bonnet.

    hendo and rodent, i remember going to rosehill one day and had to get out of the way of  a shiny top of the range maroon merc driven by les masters.
    les was one of sydneys best money riders....remember him rodent?

    Hy Falc, always rode with his sleeves up .. Nickname was The Rat.. He moved up the coast and I think his wife had a trainers licence..
