He was DQ hours later. Why?

Rider returned to scale underweight and was subsequently disqualified from first placing.

There could be an interesting story come out about this.

News from the course is that the jockey did nothing wrong, Apparently she had to take a lead bag out before the race despite her pleas that she had the correct amount of weight.

New procedure will come out, more then likely, Alot of theses meetings Predominantly have jockey coaches whose job is to guide the inexperienced ones. (Apprentices).

The Apprentice was informed by Clerk of scales she was too heavy a adjustment was made which resulted in on return weighed in to light.
, So apprentice with less then twenty rides wouldn't argue, so the Jockey Coach should be
in attendance at scales until they have at least 50 rides. Poor lass missed out on treble,& not mentioning the punters---.Pineappled.

Why would the jockey coach have anything to to do with a mix up in the scales, weighing in or out.
I would think the clerk of scales at Hedland would be a voluntary role and maybe not trained properly..

My understanding Jockey coaches attend meetings purely for apprentices, walk the track with apprentices on hand to discuss any issues that arise during meeting, decipher some trainers weird requests, for future ref. .Other wise that could save rwwa over 100,000 dollars plane fares, wages.& watch replays with the apprentices during the week.
More so if clerk of scales. is local and only officates 6--7 times a year, what does jockey coach do when apprentices are getting weighed out. .

Buddy123 I had leased Totes Amaze up to Hedland. Watched the race and watched it win. Got that excited I went and booked 2 plane tickets to Melbourne and Tickets to the Cox Plate in the 5 minutes after it crossing the line I thought with my free money. 30 minutes later when I went back to see the results to look at margins and read it weighed in light my son heard every swear word known to man :-(

Eeww, I remember that, it was the early (and very trying) days of Neighlor, before he won a race. You must have still gone because you sent me a photo of you and Darren Weir. 2017. X_X

Correct Jimmy, the Stewards Report is now available on RacingWA on the Port Hedland page

She has been admonished. I would want to do a bit more than that if it was mine. surely has to be some avenue open to the owners .its not theres  or the trainers or jockeys fault

There were two "stewards" on the day neither of them can get organized enough to make sure that the weighing in and out is correct.

When a jockey or trainer does something wrong they get fined. When stewards do something wrong they get admonished.

Given it was a 4kg kid, I don't blame them for what occurred. If it were a jock more senior, I'm sure they could have stood their ground and/or informed the trainer who would be within their rights to refuse to start the horse.

Hear what your saying Desperado. But dont think it is their job (stewards). That is why they have a clerkof scales to oversee the weigh in weigh out
