And let's wait for rwwa to release there annual report before you cast stones , very weird there has been no relivent information released on how well the NR system is going over here, also pretty funny how you wouldn't accept the upward trend of Queenland racing and Pacing when provided with that information for the previous few season , talk about an absolute front runner

The RWWA Annual report to parliament is a whopping 132 pages, bit of a read alright, a marathon in fact.....but far different than the Queensland Report, which contains actual betting turnover data for all the codes from which a reasonable comparison can be drawn.

These annual reports to parliament, across all sectors of government, are designed to placate any hornery or difficult members of the parliament, they are a bit like shareholders annual company reports. They are generally notable for what they don't say rather than what they do say, a sort of executive summary that portrays things in the best possible light. The process is generally not exclusive to any other Government Department Report or the RWWA report,  in either WA or in any other state

Some cynics may suggest it is a load of old cobblers, a nauseating dose of PR generated spin designed to sustain confidence that all is well, that the Board is managing everything superbly, nothing to be concerned about at all, everything is fine and dandy. Perish the thought, we can only take it at face value.

If you dig deep enough, you can ascertain that "income core turnover" (Page 44) has increased and there is a strong suggestion that the increase stems from sports turnover being up "by 25%" on the back of the "same game multi for AFL". There is no breakdown on turnover for either of the 3 codes. Don't go looking for what has happened to overall racing generated revenue of individual code turnover movements because it ain't there, at least not that I could find.

The report is full of glossy photographs of happy campers and resembles a Travel Brochure from the Land Of Good Times in terms of its presentation. As an assessment tool for measuring the health of the Racing Industry, well, let's just say it does what it is designed to do.

The Industry Status Report is the report that furnishes the essential detail about actual turnover for each of the 3 codes and turnover break down/performance and racing statistics for individual clubs and will, when released in the near future, provide the real assessment of where we are at. It was very late coming out last year, hopefully it drops very soon.

In this regard, the RWWA Status Report has traditionally provided far more detail than the Queensland Annual Report. Lets hope this tradition continues and that there are no format changes that may unintentionally cloud the issues.

So, whilst the Queensland Annual Report to Parliament trumps the RWWA Annual Report with respect to detail, the RWWA Status Report has in the past double trumped Queensland for detail. I am not aware of the existence of a "Queensland Industry Status report" comparable to the RWWA counterpart.

Patience is a virtue, an essential ingredient in dealing with any government QUANGO.

----Funding inequity between the racing codes was another major concern raised.
The current imbalance, where the thoroughbred code is disadvantaged relative to harness racing, is costing our sector millions of dollars each year. RWWA acknowledged this problem and indicated steps have been taken to try and rationalise the harness code to more sustainable levels, However we were advised that the Racing Minister has intervened and effectively paused these necessary reforms
As a result we intend to engage directly with the Minister to ensure that Government is fully informed of our concerns and the implications for the industry.,

Trots have attempted to burden the three codes with trying to divide G.P 80 Million land value
My understanding was to receive 24.7 million grant from RWWA to stump up the infrastructure changes and rearranges to suit development of units, after a six-month legal battle then G.P to receive Two million back per year for five years maximum crowd size to.4k. don't nowhere that's at hope, the tip,.

Don't think the eight galloping trainers that signed, wait for the soup kitchen.
surprised family members in both codes are prepared to go for each other's jugular.
