Should be a top race

Interesting that Megatic won this race last year carrying 53kg with Marasco topweight with 60kg. Now its Megatics turn to try and carry the impost. Tarzi who also carried 53kg and ran 2nd is 2nd topweight with 57.5kg.

I am not sure on past timing but no winner of this event has ever gone on to win the Railway.

    Tarzi for me, good run last start, drops in weight and gets to his pet distance and should be be good eachway odds.

    Could not discount Tarzi, but not sure where he will be in running?
    Couldn't back Megatic with that weight against these.
    I can't see the winner coming from back in the field.
    I like London, should be camped on the pace along with Grand Nirvana who I rate the main danger.
    I'd be interested to know if anyone has done a speed map of this race :?:

    I have Escadaire leading although with no great confidence. I would be surprised if they led on Megatic with the big weight. Think they would be more inclined to take the sit with London. I think the query runner's pushing forward are Ken's Double who will either be outside the leader or back last and Grand Nirvana who can race forward but will probably drift back form the draw 1st-up.

    im tipping kens double will go fwd from its gate and sit outside, would be mad not to with the lack of pace.
    grand nirvana could also go fwd with KD on its outside if thats the case theres no way he'll be 3-4 deep like day mark miller carved it up when it ran 2nd in the roma cup.... :evil: huge place chance for mine!

    If Paddy tried a clever cross I agree. Just that I see the other 2 I mentioned taking off like scalded cats. Giving Paddy chance to wait to cross and sit outside them. Will be interesting race at last. Seems there is a God. :lol:

    If MEGATIC stayed on the fence and tried to lead with the weight, it would be like throwing money away. Also IMHO once on the fence later in race you stay there. Some clever jocks in this race and it is not a field with apprentices galore. OH WELL ONLY 1 more sleep. :( :( :lol: :lol: :lol:

    I dont expect him to lead - was just trying to imagine how he would be outside the leaders drawn 1 - but Im thinking you meant behind the leaders - which if so we agree then

    speaking of leading, will King KoolKat lead in the first?
    big difference in price between geyser peak king kool on their last run behind tudor lad.
    geyser peak up in trip, nearing peak fitness hard to beat but in a small field the discrepencies in price have me slightly baffled......

    Leads but you are talking about a horse that has won 1 race from 44 starts. Can win without me. Geyser Peak was an average ride l/s & will be better suited by the dist increase here. Still like Brunello though!

    Hashy me old mate you are spot on Load up London save on Col Correct they run 1/2 IMO as well Snugg Buggles ,Waratahs Secret this bloke hasnt been extended yet dont worry about silly sectionals .

    LONDON - $4.50
    MEGATIC - $5.10
    GRAND NIRVANA - $5.50
    CASPER COWBOY $7.20
    TARZI - $8
    COLOUR CORRECT - $9
    KENS DOUBLE - $12
    HADABECLORKA - $18
    ESCADAIRE - $25
    LAMBTON CASTLE - $40
    NEW SPICE - $50

    A few big differences. LONDON looks the one to me, CASPER COWBOY looks obviously over the odds, and COLOUR CORRECT well unders imo. Also ESCADAIRE not sure at this distance.

    Ive backed COLOUR CORRECT in its last 2 starts but looks out of his depth here... famous last words :)

    Agree with your market assessment, but i think Grand Nirvana will start and should be shorter than Megatic. Weight stops trains...

    I would be happy to lay Casper Cowboy at that price - I mean if it cant beat Star Laser at 1400m then its got no hope against the better horses.
