A few starts coming out to play.
Should be a good guide to how a few of these have come back this prep.
Be interesting to see how Efficient, Maluckday, Precedence, Lion Tamer and all the mares go - from a Cups perspective

    Article from Cyberhorse:

Mares Set To End Underwood Drought

    image
    Shamrocker

Shamrocker and Scarlett Lady head a bunch of well-credentialled mares as they try to overcome a 26-year hoodoo against the fairer sex in Saturday's Underwood Stakes at Caulfield.
Not since Tristarc, in 1985, has a mare been successful in the Group One weight-for-age feature.

Since then there have been plenty finish runner-up including Mannerism (1993), Jezabeel (1998), Magical Miss (2002), She's Archie (2004), Miss Finland (2007) and Dariana (2010).

But this year the mares have a strong hand with Shamrocker, Brazilian Pulse, Scarlett Lady, Absolutely and Lights Of Heaven - all Group One winners - along with Exceptionally and Southern Speed among the 23 nominations.

The Danny O'Brien-trained Shamrocker, the current Melbourne Cup favourite at $12 with TAB Sportsbet, will strip fitter for her first-up eighth to King's Rose in the Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield and will be better suited over the 1800m trip.

Australian Guineas and Australian Derby winner Shamrocker has a good second-up record having won at two of her three tries including her Guineas success.

The Graeme and Debbie Rogerson-trained Scarlett Lady made it six straight victories with her impressive win in the Queensland Oaks before returning from a spell with a seventh behind King Mufhasa in the Makfi Challenge (1400m) at Hastings on August 27.

Scarlett Lady is currently second pick in the betting at $11 for the Caulfield Cup behind the $8 favourite December Draw who tries to force his way in to that race by winning Saturday's Naturalism Stakes (2000m).

The Kiwi four-year-old is third pick in Melbourne Cup betting at $14 behind Shamrocker and December Draw ($13).

Before Tristarc, mares successful in the Underwood were Valley Of Georgia (1979), Denise's Joy (1977), How Now (1976) and Lowland (1968).

Amongst the males engaged in the Underwood are Heart Of Dreams, who won the race in 2009, Victoria Derby winner Lion Tamer, Melbourne Cup runner-up Maluckyday, Makybe Diva Stakes runner-up Glass Harmonium, Midas Touch, Playing God and At First Sight.

The Bart Cummings stable, which won the race last year when champion So You Think beat stablemate Dariana, will saddle up Precedence who'll be ridden by last year's winning rider Steven Arnold.

Is someone having a joke? The 2nd race a caulfield should be on a monday at a provincial meeting.

You know the race is terrible when you end up with a robbie laing horse on top

    Race 5: Bullbars, Veewap, Testamypatience
Race 6: Classic Elle, Hallowell Belle, Celebrity Girl, Kneeling
Race 7: Glass Harmonium, Shamrocker, Heart Of Dreams, Lion Tamer
Race 8: December Draw, I'm Jake, At First Sight, Niwot
Race 9: Sister Madly, Lone Rock, Valentine Miss, Dubleanny

Should be good racing, was so impressed with Glass Harmonium last start, and with Green Moon's biblical run in the Newcastle Cup is making December Draw look pretty good from here on.

I have huge fears about that glass harmonium, lights of heaven race. Very slow time makes for a very poor form race.

Precedence will do something tomorrow and be promoted to cups favoritism. HoD the one to beat.

Sister madly a moral and so is zaira if ridden properly.

Hallowelle belle has found the right race tomorrow but i couldn't back it with stolen money.

I like a couple at Odds today.

December Draw unders for me. Beaten nothing of note yet and favs have terrible record in this race. My Bentley for me at the 25s.

Anabaa's Legacy will lead them a merry dance in the last and prove hard to catch.

Like All Serene at massive odds in the 3rd at Rosehill.

Lights of Heaven can bounce back in blinkers PG a clear danger.

    Good luck.

Why would Damien Lane stay in Vic ?? i see today he is picking up 2 or 3 rides in the outer bush areas racing for 10k would make more $$$ riding in Kal is not really great for his learning i would have thought riding against the best in town would be the go but just wasting his time toiling around out there might as well come home was always going to be tough for him once the spring racing started .

A couple of questions guys, does anyone know when and where Guyno is kicking off, given that he's already qualified for the CC. Is he still in Perth or has he left?

Second, does anyone give Bliss Street a chance in the next? I backed here last week, no luck, shit ride. She has halved her price???

Anyone heard a whisper or anything?
