Grand Nirvana at 1100m? not for me....
I reckon Playing God has more chance of placing than Grand Nirvana.

just the way you stated PG had none and GN had a chance. I'd say the other way round, like the market suggests.

i think it is playing god's best chance to win a race in Melbourne so far. R3
    (9) Faron , R6 (9) Master of Design and R7 (15) Mamma's Choice all offer some value. A good all up place bet with the 3 legs
  • Very hot day - expect some upsets

wouldnt mind owning one like Playing God, 4th in a Group 1?

not being smart as I didnt see the Grand Nirvana result, but how did he go? Playing God 4th I though was a decent run.
  • VorgtrafficVorgtraffic    1,755 posts
He finished 2nd last beaten 4L but the problem was that he got into a big bumping duel and that was the end of him. I dont mind reminiscing on the race because i had a huge collect. 8)

PG never given a chance. With the scratchings of Danzylum and DJ king mufhasa just dominated the race and nothing made ground. First four home settled in the first four.

I also would love to own him my point Diva is that he just is 2-3L of the gr-1 horses over there he doesnt have the killer punch over there but still a good animal

Yep, would be wasting ammo running in the Aust Cup. Should look for a nice Gr2 between 14-1800m. Same goes for Ranger

I agree with dungy that he appears to be 2-3 lengths off the very best over east. There is no point not trying to win one of these Group 1's - he has won the same G1 over here, which whilst it still makes him a dual G1 winner, he needed to win the Railway to have the more illustrious double.

In saying that, until later this year, there is no reason bringing him back here, anything he does here is not going to increase his value as a sire. But a G2 or G1 win over east will - he may never do it, but he runs well, and you never know he might get that one easy race and nail it.

However I would say that the camp should try a Melbourne jock - nothing against Steven, but I think a fresh head over there might help.

I'd love to see Glen Boss onboard - big race rider and goes well first up on new horses in big races quite often.

All in all, good luck to the connections they have a very exceptional racehorse!

Grand Nirvana had no luck in the straight. Can't really take much out of that race.
PG always seems to get outrun in the last 200 odd. Just not sure if he quite up to the elite level.
Agree with the change of Jockey too.

Bit rough Funkster - justmyluck put his/her tips up pre-race and in fairness on level stakes would have done quite well.

I dont agree with changing the jock Stevey P has ridden the horse dead set fantastic 11/10 rides every start over there he just aint upto it at that level Nifty is wasting his time maybe look at a softer race in Brizzy or Adelaide but IMO he still wouldnt win bring him back here and keep him at WFA ,KT,Hyperion,Schahill ect

I put Woorim with my other favs ( Let go Thommo, Scenic Blast and The Jackal ) from a punt prospective when they win its at odds... Only just missed out on the tri... Can't complain though!

Same with Eagle Falls. You'd definitely be showing a good profit if you'd followed him
